SkillPoint Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters Review

With Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, Bandai Namco delivers an entertaining sequel that plays to its strengths primarily on the pitch. The action-packed gameplay once again feels wonderfully like the anime, the special skills ensure spectacular moments, and the large selection of teams and characters rarely lets fans of the original material down. The different story routes and episode challenges also bring some additional replay value. At the same time, however, the game wastes a lot of potential. Your custom character remains mute and meaningless, the artificial intelligence can be frustrating, and there is very little to do outside of the story mode. Above all, the missing Dream Team mode from its predecessor is a bitter disappointment. Fans of Captain Tsubasa are still treated to a fun anime soccer game, but a thoroughly successful sequel would have required more content and significantly more freedom.
