Tahseen Citizen Sleeper Review

Oct 26, 2026
Citizen sleeper is one of the few games that actually made me care. I wasn’t just invested in this world, but genuinely cared about it. I cared for the eye and its inhabitants and I cared about my choices and how they would effect the people I had grown to care about. It takes some amazing writing and outstanding world building to really have me care. There were multiple times throughout my play through where I had to pause and think Ad nauseam at how the choices I am making would alter the story. This game had me caring, I cared for Tala and her bar, for Emphis and his cooking, for Lem and Mina and their dreams, for Riko, for Feng for Ankhita, for Sabine, for the whole lot. There were multiple points throughout this game where I was tearing up over the decisions I had to make and the consequences thereafter. The writing in this game is just impeccable, complex at times but not too verbose. It is political, just not as politically charged as other cRPGs. It’s more focused on the effect of corporations and their shortfalls and how that in turn, changes the lives of the everyday people. That focus on the everyday, the small and mundane and the superb writing really spoke to me. It is a must play in my opinion despite how long it took me to get around to playing it. “Those images, though they will not happen for decades, are what will carry you through this cycle, and perhaps the next one too” - 10/10
