TheRick Rocket League Review

I really like the premise of the game, however the execution in both programming and matchmaking are amongst the worst I have seen so far in competitive games and the player base deteriorates my already subpar impression of the game into oblivion. The physics engine, if you can call it that, makes little sense, the ball is basically a pyramid and both camera settings are absolutely abysmal, forcing you to constantly switch between Sodom and Gomorrha. The "skillbased" matchmaking is, who would have guessed at this point, a nightmare. Psyonix does absolutely nothing against players who should be ranked far higher but lose some games on purpose so that they can farm easy wins against newer and less skilled players. This has been a problem since the beginning of time, but implementing a report-feature against this scum aparrently is too good an idea to ever consider for this trash game. Speaking of players: We all know the saltmines that are LoL, DOTA2 and the sorts. To nobody's surprise this game has a community even worse that the aforementioned games combined. Insults and suicide suggestions seem to be normal to some of these degenerates (admittedly there is at least the option to report players for this), but the constant gloating and condescension by smurfs, whose fragile egos probably could take losing against equally skilled opponents, gets old really fast. Yes, there is the possibility to block players, but not only is the block-list finite (and I maxed out mine laughably quickly), I have already been matched with players that I have blocked already - which brings us full circle to the godawful programming.
