Days after meeting them, I still carry these protagonists and their tale in my thoughts, though genDESIGN and SIE Japan Studio have carried them much longer. The Last Guardian's troubled development cycle spans nearly ten years, surviving taxing setbacks and delays in hopes of delivering this story.
This Special Edition is nothing less and little more than Skyrim. That is either exceptionally exciting or a respectable pass, depending on how much Dhovakiin thirst the last five years has left you with.
Its clashing themes, self-referential script, accomplished cinematography and dynamic characters tell a profoundly human story. The feeling of boundless adventure burns brighter than that of a neatly closing door, but though this is not these characters' highest caliber tale, this is the tale that rings true.
Unravel is something special. After my 10-hour journey, I called my parents and some good friends in its honor. Though you may not pick up the game, maybe it will help you take notice of the bonds in your life, even when they are worn and tangled.
A gothic action RPG jeweled with easter eggs and playful banter, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2 is a gripping experience bursting at the seems with personality.
My only complaint? I wish there were more. I loved every minute of heart pounding, puzzle solving, mind-blow inducing minute of Year Walk, but I think I'm spoiled in wanting another few hours from a story that may best be served short and sweet. There's a quality over quantity argument to be made here, but overall I believe Year Walk accomplishes a full, well-paced narrative appropriate for the $5.99 price tag.
