Pokkén Tournament isn't quite as successful as some of the other Pokémon releases and other genre experiments (Pokémon Conquest comes to mind), but it offers high-energy battles and a unique framework for fights, even if it could use some tweaking. It's fun, and it has a battle ecosystem with real potential. Also, I do think its multiplayer could have legs in the esports scene.

The new mechanics and features — well welcomed — don’t make up for just how overly familiar everything feels, or the overall lack of new monsters and material, and I’m not sure if Generations ever entirely justifies itself.

Kingdom has solid ideas that get lost in its own simplicity. It's a little too conceptual, and I found that it had a hard time holding my attention after a few in-game days. It has a whole kingdom out there to explore, but it just isn't varied or interesting enough to warrant the type of commitment it ask of the player.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is fun. I enjoyed my time with it - much more so than I did with Mario Tennis Open. It's a step up over the last iteration in some areas, yet still it manages to be a lackluster entry in a series that seems to be sadly suffering from continual decline.

Unscored - Lost Reavers

Lost Reavers is a bad game, plain and simple. It’s repetitive, broken, glitchy, full of problems and empty on content. But yet, there’s still something about it that intrigues me.
