Avowed offers a strong atmosphere, colorful personalities, and a gameplay loop that is entirely serviceable. However, it fails to excel in any particular area, including the character-driven narratives that Obsidian are known for. And so, Avowed fails to fully deliver on its potential.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a wholly enjoyable adventure. While it's not the first time players get to step into the shoes of the good doctor, this is the first time an Indy game has left me with a feeling that's actually comparable to the movies.

Although the detailed management of endgame item production can be a little time-consuming, the performance could be better, and diplomacy could be implemented in a more elegant way, the game offers complex systems that are rewarding to get into. I hope that we continue to see innovations in this niche from the developers behind Ara: History Untold.
