Revenge of the Savage Planet is a vibrant and humorous 3D platformer that serves both as a tribute to classic 90s adventures and a satirical critique of corporate overreach. The game emphasizes exploration, creature cataloging, resource gathering and encourages players to revisit areas with new abilities in a Metroidvania style progression.

City of the Wolves is truly old-school, delivering fast, colorful fighting both on- and offline. But for all the depth of the combat system, the game is sorely lacking in terms of player guidance and ways to keep the duels engaging over any length of time. Awful tutorials, lack of modern controls and a truly shoddy single-player makes this one to miss, especially for potential newcomers.

There are very few times that I don't believe my own eyes, but Oblivion Remastered has managed to throw me back two decades, and give me exactly the same jaw drop at the age of 31 as when I was 13.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a breathtaking and emotionally rich JRPG with one of the genre's best combat systems, crafted with such artistry it rivals the classics it's inspired by.

10 / 10 - Blue Prince

Blue Prince is a brilliantly designed, atmospheric puzzle game that masterfully blends exploration, strategy, and storytelling, making it a strong contender for Game of the Year.

South of Midnight impresses with its unique Southern Gothic setting and stunning visuals, but falls short due to repetitive gameplay, shallow storytelling, and lackluster combat.

8 / 10 - Atomfall
Mar 27, 2025

Atomfall's best features lie hidden underneath a layer of gameplay that never rises above 'just good enough'. For those who dig deeper, there's a thrilling mystery to be solved, and a level of variety that you'll only truly appreciate on a second playthrough.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is not a bad game, nor is it fantastic. It follows the same recipe as the series’ installments have done for a few years now, where we’re served a story full of intrigue, power struggles, and a revenge motif. The main characters, Naoe, a nimble ninja, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai, provide varied gameplay experiences, but does not quite let the player live out the full fantasy of being either. It’s unfortunate that Ubisoft does not unleash the full potential of finally having an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan.

8 / 10 - Split Fiction
Mar 4, 2025

Despite its somewhat lackluster story and a few wearisome sci-fi sequences, Split Fiction is a solid next outing for Hazelight. The game delivers a plethora of charming vistas, some truly engaging gameplay mechanics and great co-op innovations through most of its 12 hour journey.

The hunts and the impressive lineup of monsters are of course the heart and soul of the game, but there are mechanics upon mechanics to explore and figure out. Combat is fluid, tight, and each hunt is unique. The changes and additions to each weapon, and the fact that you can now bring two weapons on a hunt, make Monster Hunter Wilds the best iteration in the series to date.

7 / 10 - Avowed
Feb 13, 2025

Avowed offers a strong atmosphere, colorful personalities, and a gameplay loop that is entirely serviceable. However, it fails to excel in any particular area, including the character-driven narratives that Obsidian are known for. And so, Avowed fails to fully deliver on its potential.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is the most ambitious title in the series to date. In addition to actually telling the story it's based on, the game gives us the biggest and most entertaining battles we've seen from Dynasty Warriors.

8 / 10 - Marvel Rivals
Dec 14, 2024

Marvel Rivals manages to feel both familiar and like a breath of fresh air. The cast of characters is exciting across the board, and once the game adds more maps and hopefully better matchmaking, I think NetEase could be on to a winner.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a wholly enjoyable adventure. While it's not the first time players get to step into the shoes of the good doctor, this is the first time an Indy game has left me with a feeling that's actually comparable to the movies.

Metro Awakening shows a lot of promise, with its creepy atmosphere, slick gunplay and generally fun VR mechanics. Sadly it doesn't last, and the second half of the game gets overly repetitive.
