The way the menus and settings are implemented provides a consistent experience, meaning you don’t have to familiarise yourself with everything from scratch every time you play a game. The same applies to optional settings and button mappings. Whilst this does take away a little of the feeling of ‘complete games’, the convenience features more than make up for it.

I wish Hot Rod Mayhem could have won me over more. After all, the actual presentation looks as if a lot of heart and soul went into it. Unfortunately, however, it falls short for me too much in terms of gameplay and track design. The rather modest scope of content doesn't help matters either. At least I'm glad I can turn off the biggest problem (Mr. Chatterbox!) when needed. That way, he doesn't constantly hover as a shadow over the game.

Amanda the Adventurer 2 definitely has a distinctive core concept that I have not really seen in any other game—apart from its obvious predecessor. The “horror” could certainly be much more intense, and it would also be helpful if it were easier to get into the main gameplay experience more directly. Aside from that, however, this analog horror puzzle game already gets a lot right simply through its idea alone. I am hopeful that future entries will further refine and expand on this concept.

Unfortunately, Endless Ocean Luminous could convince only to a limited extent. The variety of creatures and especially all the special beings are great. Yes, the ULs are a super idea too. But the whole concept around it with random maps, grinding, and weak technology simply clouds the overall experience.

It does make me a bit sad. I really wanted to give the game a good review, because my first impression was absolutely brilliant. I could have lived with the length of the levels as well. But the problems that cropped up later on in the game just ended up causing me more frustration than fun.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged has truly turned out to be a fantastic successor. Many things have been improved, but equally all the good core elements have been retained. The scope was also nicely expanded in several places, though not everywhere. Specifically, the entire progression makes it a much more well-rounded game. It's just a shame that the tracks still always have the same widths, thereby creating a certain monotony, and that you can only race locally with up to two players (although I view this more neutrally, since many racers allow only a single player locally). On top of that, of course, is the strangely annoying handling of own creations, which really shouldn't be.

I find it really unfortunate. On its own, Ad Infinitum is not a bad game, but for me it simply falls short when it comes to its horror elements. On top of that, the gameplay can feel somewhat too shallow at times. In contrast, the story and its moral exploration of the horrors of war are genuinely well done. It is clear that the developers at Hekate put a lot of effort into this aspect. However, because of that, I can unfortunately only recommend the game to players who are specifically interested in experiencing its themes and narrative. If you are expecting a genuinely frightening and mechanically engaging horror experience, Ad Infinitum sadly leaves a lot to be desired.

Blur reveals itself as a skillful hybrid between street racer and fun racer, which accordingly fills quite a special niche. Whether as a successful alternative to the cartoonish representatives or as a 'bait' to lure street racer fans into the party. The combination works and also makes a lot of fun.

Dead Space (Remake) is a fantastic game that perfectly translates the entire fascination of the original into today's generation, bringing along genuinely great improvements without ever getting in the way of the original's vision. When it comes to this game, I can honestly only speak of faithfulness to the source material and meaningful refinements.

Yes, I know, the rating seems a bit exaggerated. But Goat Simulator 3 is truly a unique game, one I'd really recommend everyone checks out at least once. Even if it's just for the funny references. The game literally screams (imagine a goat scream here) "I'm a sandbox game, just having fun," and that simply makes it fantastic. The additional single-player missions, multiplayer options, and numerous parodies round everything off perfectly. I had a blast and I'm quite sure I'll be picking up future add-ons too 🙂 MAHHH!!!
