The port of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 has been convincingly accomplished. The lighting effects are particularly impressive graphically, and most visual issues persist across other consoles as well. The performance is almost completely flawless.

Ancient Farm is a rather uneven farming simulation. The fact that I am mostly alone on my farm—apart from the occasional trading ship—does not bother me at all. The tutorial is quite extensive, but beyond that there is a lack of incentives to engage with the various gameplay systems. In particular, the acquisition and use of water is overly complicated, requiring too many tools. On top of that, these tools break far too quickly. The seasons only differ in terms of which crops can be grown, which makes the overall experience feel somewhat shallow. As a result, the game comes across as a bit thin, and I can only offer a limited recommendation.

What drew me to Direction Quad in particular was its diagonal movement pattern. It's implemented in a somewhat tricky manner, but works well once you get used to it. The base difficulty of the levels is already moderate as a result and rises further through each world's unique mechanics.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a successful remake of the RPG classic. The time travels begin with many smaller stories that become more interconnected later. Due to its relatively low difficulty and some QoL features, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is particularly suited for newcomers, though it's worth playing beyond that as well.

Even beforehand, I wondered if I really needed to relive the story of the Sealing War. While Hyrule Warriors: Chronicle of the Sealing War does offer a few narrative expansions, it remains the same story overall. The battles themselves also hardly have any distinguishing features. At the same time, the source material in the form of the memories in Tears of the Kingdom provides few indications that I would expect a particularly impressive battle or an elaborate plan. Additionally, the many, nearly identical battles outside the main ones further weaken the impression. This bothers me far more than the plot, which at least deepens the story somewhat. The combat system is fluid, and the characters offer varied gameplay. Some have more noticeable gimmicks than others, but even the more down-to-earth side characters have their own specific traits. From a gameplay perspective, Chronicle of the Sealing War is well executed.

Hotel Infinity is a competent puzzle game in VR that relies noticeably on room-scale, though it can also function with stick locomotion if needed. While this makes it somewhat less unique, it still offers many gadgets and interactive puzzles. Technically, the title doesn't run quite smoothly yet. The difficulty level is pleasant and more relaxing than demanding. So I can recommend a visit to Hotel Infinity.

Audio Trip is a successful VR rhythm game with a particularly wide range of motion. The campaign is well-suited for getting familiar with the songs and is also worthwhile due to the unlocking of modifiers. The music selection is very catchy. What bothers me are rather small things, so I can recommend the title well.

The puzzles offer little challenge and the gameplay principle is so reduced that it often feels more like waiting than playing. There are a few timing-based obstacles, but they fail to liven up the monotonous gameplay that sets in after just a few levels. Therefore, I can only recommend Bomb Kitten if the urge to plant bombs is truly pressing.

Firefly Village is a very compact farming sim with an interesting concept. The short days and seasons require a bit of acclimatization, but then work largely convincingly. The problem, however, is that the game lacks a cohesive thread due to its design choice not to overwhelm players with tasks.

Birdigo is an entertaining word-building roguelike, though its nature means it does present a few linguistic hurdles. It’s fun to piece together words from a collection of letters whilst keeping an eye out for whether another word might be worth more points. For me, the later levels in particular are a bit too difficult, because whilst the modifiers can be very powerful, sometimes they just don’t make up for everything.

The digital campfire in Chillin’ by the Fire is a well-designed simulator. There are lots of little tricks that affect the fire. However, the increase in difficulty in the final area is significantly greater than between the previous areas.
