Lexuzze Tablante's Reviews
Despite my gripes on sudden shifts to third-person, its plethora of animation bugs and glitches, and meager optimization on PC, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle shows a lot of respect to its source material. With its incredible voice-over team especially Troy Baker's amazing performance and portrayal of Indiana Jones, the stunning musical score that captures the essence of John Williams' work, the staggering locations, and the adequate story, it's an authentic Indiana Jones adventure you'll surely enjoy.
Astro Bot not only drives you back down memory lane, but it successfully captures your heart by bringing your beloved franchises into one, big adorable package that brings a lot of experiences back from the depths of our core memory. Astro Bot is lovable, charming, and most importantly, an incredible game.
Star Wars Outlaws’ impressive characters, staggering world-building, hooking story, amazing soundtrack, and engaging gameplay, make this the first authentic open-world experience that every Star Wars fan deserves. Massive Entertainment outdid themselves and it paid off.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora deserves recognition for staying faithful to its source material. Fans of the Avatar franchise will love what Massive Entertainment created. Despite the flat and predictable story, I enjoyed the significant amount of content it offered, plus the co-op feature where I got to experience the entire campaign with my wife. Frontiers of Pandora showcased the beautiful world created in the Avatar universe by James Cameron perfectly, its incredible flora and fauna, and the scenic views from atop the Hallelujah Mountains.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a culmination of superhero games in decades. Insomniac outdid themselves this time, and Spider-Man 2 is what every Spidey fan is looking for. It's such a spectacular game and an incredible sequel. Spider-Man 2 isn't just a technical feat; it's brimming with lovable characters and exhilarating combat, accompanied by a compelling and emotional story, and has a city full of activities that will get you sidetracked. Spider-Man 2 deserves a Game of the Year award.
Forza Motorsport shines and takes the top place on the podium. With the sheer amount of cars, and the amazing race tracks it initially offers, race sim fans and newcomers will find Forza Motorsport inviting and fun.
Despite my initial thoughts about the game being a “real-time squad tactics” title, Aliens Dark Descent captures the embodiment and horror of the franchise with its engaging gameplay and level design. The game doesn’t just keep you on your toes and raises your heart rate during intense situations; it also fuels the enjoyment you’ll get from playing it.
Over the past week, I immensely enjoyed my time with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. There's no doubt Survivor is a great follow-up to 2019's Fallen Order. With the game's significantly refined combat gameplay, expansive areas, and a decent story, you will enjoy what Survivor has in store, whether you're a Star Wars fan or a casual gamer looking to experience a solid Star Wars game despite its technical flaws. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is definitely strong with the Force!
Horizon Call of the Mountain stands as a technical marvel and a testament to the potential of VR gaming on the PSVR2 platform. It immerses players in a stunning post-apocalyptic world, delivering moments of awe and excitement, especially during intense machine battles. However, its heavy reliance on climbing mechanics, relative lack of narrative depth, and occasional repetition may impact its overall appeal. While it excels in showcasing the hardware’s capabilities, it falls slightly short of being a must-buy VR title. Despite its moments of brilliance, Horizon Call of the Mountain feels like a puzzle missing a few essential pieces, raising questions about its purpose in the realm of VR gaming.
Evil West's enjoyable, gruesome combat will keep you wanting to land more punches and rip monsters apart despite the dreary narrative.
Gotham Knights can prove to be a great game in certain aspects but it struggles to find its own identity. It’s lost and doesn’t really know what it wants to be, but regardless of its identity crisis, Gotham Knight’s characters, co-op, and enjoyable combat made my time memorable and bearable.
Destroy All Humans 2! Reprobed may not be the perfect polished game out there, but the persistent open world you get to explore and the chaos you bring to mankind are nothing but exquisite and entertaining. If it wasn’t for the mission glitch and minor polish issues, I would have given the game an 11/10! I had fun with Reprobed and will definitely love to see a much more fitting sequel than Big Willy Unleashed and Path of the Furon from Black Forest Games.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is another fuel-pumping PlayStation franchise that PC gamers can now experience. While there are just a few more kinks to sort out by Nixxes, the amazing level of optimization the team managed to achieve is surely impressive. If you want to play the best version of Insomniac Games’ Spidey, that’s going to be on PC.
Overall, Starship Troopers: Terran Command showcases a lot of love for the films. While the repetitive mission objectives can be a complete turn-off, this flaw is overshadowed by the unique scenarios, great level of detail, amazing audio design, and the ultimate fan service. It’s a solid Starship Troopers game.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Nintendo Switch is an amazing port. You get to relive the moments and space adventures of Starkiller and his motley crew in a much cleaner and sharper version of what the Wii offered.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga reinvents the LEGO video game formula and revitalizes the entire franchise with something much more than what its predecessors offered. It's crazy fun, and undeniably engaging, The Skywalker Saga is now the pinnacle of LEGO games in history.
Gran Turismo 7 quenches the need for speed. It's not made just for the fans, but for everyone, and Polyphony learned what they've lacked in GT Sport. Gran Turismo 7 is the best racing game of 2022. Period.
Despite minor technical issues that can be patched up, Horizon: Forbidden West's compelling narrative, a spectacular cast of characters, its impressive graphical feat, and superb combat will make your time worthwhile. Horizon: Forbidden West is simply a masterpiece, a game that a PS4 and PS5 owner should not miss.
Despite the lack of ray tracing and the absence of Uncharted 4‘s beloved multiplayer, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is still an impressive PS5 port, providing the best overall performance. However, the $49.99 price point doesn’t really sit well with me; such that the PS4 versions of both games, which costs about only $10 each at retail, still look and play great.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is, by far, the most complete dino theme park simulator package today. I love it, it's worth it, you need to get out there and buy it so life can find its way.
