I'm not sure if D1 Complete functions as the best go to for newcomers, as it's more heavy handed in dealing out punishment with the steep learning curve and shows limitations at times. Nevertheless, I believe Disgaea fans will jump at the opportunity to dig back in.

It goes without saying that Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is for longtime fans. Everything fans love about the series is present in this installment but it's definitely not a good starting point for newcomers since the story does continue from previous entries.

So is Valkyria Revolution worth a look? My answer is no, not even for the diehard of diehard fans. Perhaps a rental if curiosity levels really cap out but seriously, let this one go. Remember fondly the series of old and let this call to arms go unanswered.

An arcade style beat em’ up that offers as much wacky nonsense as it does serious crime drama, this prequel fits in nicely with previous installments. With Yakuza Kiwami (a remake of the original) hopefully arriving this Summer, Yakuza 0 can easily be called the perfect entry point for the series.

This is one of those moments where style outweighs content. While there's not a whole lot of variety, the game shines on its positives. Even for the people that have no idea who Hatsune Miku is or what Vocaloid even means, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X is definitely worth a play. It certainly converted me.
