Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is an enjoyable Lego game let down by the series' own formulaic design. The missions are enjoyable but never allow the game to develop in exciting ways, the restrictive hub worlds are also an issue although the end game content makes up for this. The amount of replay value the game offers is great but it's a shame that it gets introduced so late. The charming and often times hilarious story would be my major recommendation to play through Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. It demonstrates Traveller's Tales' ability at writing these characters in fun and engaging ways and I wouldn't be opposed to playing through another sequel to experience another back and forth between Batman and Robin.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U is a celebration, a party for gamers where they can enjoy beating the crap out of their friends all in good fun. It's a nostalgia-fuelled trip that will likely keep players busy for months, and even if you unlock everything the game has to offer you'll come back for the Smash Battles. It's a game that belongs in every Wii U owners library and indeed the big screen.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a refreshing game and one that is charming and deceptively difficult at times. I enjoyed my brief romp through the Mushroom Kingdom and would like to see Captain Toad and Toadette in bigger and grander adventures in the future. For now though Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker should be recommended to puzzle and platformer fans alike as it delivers a solid experience with a boatload of personality to go with it.

Grim Fandango is a great game let down by its age, it generally looks good but persistent bugs hinder the experience. For fans of adventure and puzzle games I would highly recommend it, as it has one of the most engrossing and enjoyable stories of recent memory, and even the simplest of puzzles offer great satisfaction upon completion. The world and story of Manny Calavera are the main reasons to play Grim Fandango, persisting through the bugs can sometimes be a frustrating experience but it will be worthwhile. Grim Fandango is truly a classic of its time and will remain a highlight of the adventure/puzzle genre for years to come. This new remastered version may do little to enhance the experience but it does offer gamers a chance to play a remarkable game, and that is surely worthwhile enough.

6.5 / 10.0 - Paperbound
Apr 16, 2015

When first playing Paperbound you would be forgiven for thinking that the game is a simplistic take on the arena battle genre. Dig a little deeper though and you find a game with solid gameplay mechanics, that delivers rounds of fast paced fun whilst playing solo, or with friends. The quick, frenzied matches of Paperbound can offer hours of fun if the core gameplay appeals to you. It's undoubtedly a mix of solid mechanics that appear simple, but are fiendishly fun to play and can be deviously complex, it's just a shame that Paperbound ends up being paper thin.

5 / 10.0 - BRAWL
May 14, 2015

Brawl could have been a fun party game with a sinister tone but it falters at too many steps. The gameplay can be fun but the slow pace of it requires a lot of patience and forward thinking from the player. The campaign is disappointing and other party games do a much better job than Brawl making the online options commendable but sadly irrelevant. Unfortunately Brawl is one party game that isn't a blast to play.

The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter will have you thinking about it after the credits roll. It's not a perfect package or a long one, but the short time you spend in Red Creek Valley will be mesmerising.
