Jason Germino's Reviews
Children of Morta is an absolute gem. Fans of action RPGs and rogue-like games should have this on their wishlist if it’s not in their library already. This is a contender for one of my most favorite games in 2019 so far!
Having a sci-fi Age of Wonders is enough to blow you away. The team did an amazing job getting a fresh feel on an already amazing game. Fans of Age of Wonders, this is a must buy. If you are at least bit curious, take my recommendation and snag this, or wait for a sale.
They Are Billions is a solid single-player real-time strategy game. You'll get some good hours out of it, and have the chance to compete against others on the leaderboards.
I enjoyed my time with Fade to silence. I have to give major credit to the developers for getting this game back on track, and for listening to the issues players were having. This game is fun survival horror and should be looked at for something a little different in the survival genre. Existing owners should also give this one a try again, you should be surprised.
Rainswept was a great surprise. The deep, meaningful, story around mental health that doesn't make it some evil idea, is refreshing. Though not perfect, it is definitely memorable.
American Fugitive is a blast to play. Despite some difficulty balancing issues, the gameplay is fun, the story holds up, and the audio is amazing. For $14.99 you're going to get some solid gameplay, even if you just want to blow through a farmers fence and tear up through a cornfield in a high-speed chase.
Warhammer: Chaosbane has more depth than I expected. Expect to have hours of fun with this one. Grab a buddy and dive into some massive bosses and epic endgame content. Fans of the genre should be looking seriously at Warhammer: Chaosbane, and it's only going to get better during its life cycle!
Existing Yakuza fans most likely already know that this is a must buy if you're on the Kiwami train. As for new players looking to jump in, You can go in order, but the game does a good recap of what you missed in the early minutes of the game. Either way, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a damn good game worthy of your time.
Overall I enjoyed Beat Cop. Many people complained about its repetitiveness but you're playing a cop, which job is fairly repetitive, hell most simulations are 'wash then repeat' type game. Though sure it did feel a bit tasking, it wasn't a game killer for me, there were other things going on to distract me from it being boring. With it being $14.99 base cost, this is something you want to keep watch on.
Weedcraft Inc may not appeal to all gamers due to its content. Though business tycoon simulation fans should "toke" (sorry) a look at what Vile Monarch brings to the table. Although it may not be perfect, it's damn close.
Townsmen: A Kingdom Rebuilt is a fun casual game and besides looking like a mobile port, it quite fun to play and get lost for a bit. Hardcore RTS or city simulator fans may be put off at first, due to the slow beginning. I'd recommend diving in if you're looking for some fun, time-wasting simulation.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden should be played by tactical RPG fans, there have been some major updates recently with more on the horizon. If it's not on your radar, you should probably start looking into it.
Farming Simulator 19 is another solid entry in the series. With the addition of John Deere and more animals brings some more fun to existing players and new. Though I feel it's missing a few things to bring it over the top, Farming Simulator 19 still deserves respect for where it's at today.
Overall, The Bard's Tale IV, after a few updates, is a solid game. A well-done story backed by amazing voice acting and soundtrack makes this game a must for The Bard's Tale fans. Newcomers to the series should enjoy their time as well. Finding it on sale should help seal the deal.
Mutant Football League is a fun game loaded with action, over the top, ass-kicking, football. Though limited on features the Dynasty Edition adds some great replay if the game interests you at all. The niche of gamers MFL is aimed at should have a lot of fun while sports game fans may enjoy the depth of playbook and such, it may be too much to play.
These little robots, although not perfect, found a way into my heart. With the developers actively listening to their fans, if The Colonists grabs your interest in any way, jump on it. You won't go wrong!
The Jackbox Party Pack 5 is an amazing party game for streamers and players at home alike. The games are fresh and fun, and the themes for each game fit perfectly. If you and your friends don't have fun, find new friends.
Unfortunately, I am unable to recommend this game to everyone. Though I had issues with it, this game may hit a niche of gamers that fall in love with it. Trying to do everything at once was overwhelming and it sucked the fun out of the game.
I would recommend this game to fans of RTS and base management games. It was fun and refreshing, and somewhat nerve-wracking. There aren't many issues I had personally with the game, it was enjoyable.
Two Point Hospital is something I've been missing for a long time. The gameplay is terribly addicting, the humor gets me, and I just can't get enough. Even if you're not a simulation fan, you will find fun playing this game.
