Despite a few small clichés and a merely functional technical department, Amnesia: Rebirth manages to be consistent to the end, offering a profound and terrifying experience. If the woodworm insinuated by a videogame manages to escape from its content by undermining the user-container, then it will have performed the most difficult task: to push to reflection through a silent path of transference and identification, to really live outside the fictitious nightmare that created it.

Foregone, while making the verse to metroidvania and roguelike various, remains a pure and linear action, with solid gameplay and a valuable technical compartment.

A discreet and relaxing action-rpg, which thanks to its model business manages to be a completely free single player experience.

Taken as a single package Prinny 1-2 exploded and reloaded is not so bad. However, it is impossible to turn a blind eye to the mere porting operation performed by the developers. The two games have been modernized by a bland filter for 2D elements, without any possibility to intervene on the graphics. The result is a slightly blurred image, even in portable mode, which together with the rigid and frustrating gameplay, outline a very lazy and unattractive package.

Hades is a contender for one of the best roguelike in recent years. The extraordinary magnetism that surrounds him, the desire that instills in the player to try relentlessly, maybe even just to read the umpteenth sarcastic comment of the deity on duty, are very valuable features. Supergiant Games' tricks in outlining every little detail of his creature are children of a true and palpable passion. Rare merchandise these days, which no player should miss,

Othercide is a wonderfully imperfect game: you can't overlook the lack of class balance, nor the exasperation of its roguelike nature. This one, above all, is capable of inflicting hits of great playful frustration before the experience and skills acquired begin to shyly overlook your endless ordeals. The game doesn't come to terms with anyone, it proudly writes its rules and dictates its own inflexible laws. Getting in tune with this type of gameplay can provide a unique and rewarding experience. If, however, the roguelike have tired you out or have never given you a particular attraction, Othercide is certainly not the game that will change your mind.

Maid of Sker - in some ways - could be described as a sort of Resident Evil 7 without weapons. A dilapidated house full of puzzles, the backtracking that repopulates deserted areas at first and the general atmosphere, have brought to mind several times the Capcom adventure. Clearly, the technical side pays the price for an immeasurably lower level of production, but in the same way it outlines the strength of its own qualities. Maid of Sker, however, is all about stealth, and while it gives us some tools to distract or block enemies, it doesn't stray far from its initial structure. Had it not been for a dark, kneaded aesthetic and some rather unfortunate game choices, we'd have a little classic on our hands.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 might annoy those who find this continuous use of 8-bit style graphics redundant. If it may appear pimply and technically "comfortable" in development, in reality the pillars that decree a good video game are always the same. Inti Create has created an intriguing action platformer with excellent gameplay potential. With an unexpected endgame for such a "small" title, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 brings with it the legacy of a gameplay of yesteryear, endowed with a rhythm and difficulty not for everyone, but with an internal consistency and a playful force worthy of a triple A.

Deadly Premonition 2 is a real hymn to the atavistic principle that "graphics are not everything". Stopping at the disastrous technical sector of the game could deprive you of a very interesting experience, especially if you loved the first chapter. Artistically intriguing and narratively full of ideas and revelations, this sequel by TOYBOX is expressly dedicated to fans of the first Deadly Premonition, of which it takes up history, characters and suggestions. Otherwise, it is difficult to fully enjoy the only element that barely keeps the entire production on its feet: a fascinating story, framed by a surreal aura, deliberately over the top and quotationist to the extreme.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered is an exciting concentration of fun. The wonderful design, the roaring, noisy sound; everything shines and enchants, just like seven years ago. And yet, despite its solid playability and full of concepts, the camera often struggles to follow the action at its best, becoming a real nightmare in the tightest of spaces (always very short, luckily). The game is difficult to tame, and perhaps that sense of continuous unbalance you feel in controlling the heroes is an integral part of the playful framework. However, there remains a pinch of regret in finding that such smudges have not been filed down.

Made with care and potentially interesting even for those who do not know the mechanics that distinguish it, Sakura Wars has a charm all its own, without undeniable limits. The important thing, if you want to get closer, is to understand the thematic and gameplay that give substance to the whole experience.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is an extraordinary game: not only as a magnificent reinterpretation of a classic, but also because of the courage instilled in its writing and perfect conception. A great title from Square-Enix, you have to give it some respect.

Speaking of a video game of such importance, it is difficult to separate the nostalgia effect from the actual quality. While Shenmue III proposes itself exactly as it wanted to be, on the other hand it stumbles into a series of smears that go far beyond anachronism. The desire to appear in everything as the ideal sequel to a series frozen for eighteen years proves to be a double-edged sword. As much as Shenmue III manages to find internal coherence in its compact rhythm, one cannot overlook the obvious conceptual limits that undermine its overall quality. Yu Suzuki's title does not go beyond the "miracle" of his own existence, and as satisfied as it may be, even for the most dedicated fans it will be impossible not to admit an unpleasant aftertaste of lost opportunity.

Team Sonic Racing is a game full of content, enjoyable to play and with a very well-structured co-op mode. Nevertheless, the title suffers on the medium/long duration, with a design of the tracks not always delighted and the readability of the action sometimes compromised by some aesthetic choices. Team Sonic Racing, therefore, while giving peaks of unquestionable fun, is devoid of that leap, that spark of play that can make the difference.

Jump Force is a very disappointing game and not only because of the choice to set the narrative on our planet. The low-deep combat system and the clumsy technical department outline a raw game, though full of interesting material to draw on. Paradoxically, the singular artistic direction is only the last of the problems of the game, which sees in its encyclopedic nature the only true good element.

Seemingly the same as itself, Earth Defense Force 5 takes a small but significant step forward in terms of progression and multyplayer, masterfully combining furious action with grotesque scenery. The result, despite the graphic backwardness, proudly manages to keep up, giving us a great old-school action.

For a not exactly popular price, Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection offers a significant level of entertainment for lovers of the genre and the ATLUS saga. Although the gameplay is a bit simplistic, the choreographic aspect always remain at a high level. Vivisecting the package you can see some naivety too, but overall - and focused on target audience - is a well-packaged collection.

The World Ends with You -Final Remix- is a game full of charm and attention to detail. In the face of a combat system never 100% accurate remains a solid and exciting experience. Definitely recommended for those who have never had the opportunity to try the original, the title has something to say even to those who want to dive back into the world of Neku.
