8.8 / 10.0 - Death Stranding
Nov 1, 2019

Death Stranding is a good game, as well as the most ambitious work born from the mind of Hideo Kojima. It's not perfect, but successfully captures the player in a dark and fragmented world, so it's really worth fighting for.

8.8 / 10.0 - Sniper Elite 4
Nov 16, 2020

Sniper Elite 4 is a superb adaptation, capable of shrinking Karl Fairburne's Italian adventure into a pocket size while keeping the strengths of the original game intact. If you already played Sniper Elite 4 three years ago and aren't itching to replay it in a portable format, your savings would be better spent elsewhere, given the absence of exclusive content.

8.8 / 10.0 - Owlboy

Owlboy is a brilliant but short trip: a gorgeous journey into a touching story, dressed up in a metroidvania suit.

A year later, Ghost of Tsushima is still a great game, and this Director's Cut is the definitive version, especially if you own a PlayStation 5. It's a great experience, but it's mainly for newcomers: the improvements are welcome, but hardly enough to tempt veterans of the original.

From a certain point of view, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is a remake that doesn't like to take too many risks, improving on the original experience without making any major changes. Yet this is also its greatest strength, especially for those who never played the original chapters on DS. The result is an authentic recreation of a historical title, polished and cleaned up from outdated game design elements.

8.7 / 10.0 - Worms W.M.D
Nov 27, 2017

Worms is a timeless classic that finds the perfect home on Switch. One of the best episodes in the series, to play on the go. What could go possibly wrong? Nothing! Another must have for the new Nintendo console. This version has some exclusive content, soon-to-be released on other platforms as well.

8.7 / 10.0 - Darksiders III
Nov 26, 2018

Darksiders III is a nice game, as well as a perfect sequel to a series that seemed lost in the maelstrom generated by THQ's bankruptcy. Fury might not have the charisma of the previous knigtht, War and Death, but overall the adventure boasts a very good pace, alternating discreetly challenging fights and satisfying puzzles. Definitely recommended.

8.7 / 10.0 - Octopath Traveler

Octopath Traveler has several flaws, especially in the narrative component, but still remains a beautifully presented game, with tons of good ideas.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 is an excellent role-playing game of classic style, absolutely unmissable for the veterans of the saga. Everyone else may find themselves overwhelmed by excessive references, compromising the experience.

8.7 / 10.0 - Wasteland 3
Aug 26, 2020

Wasteland 3 is a good role-playing game, technically passable but enriched by a dense network of intriguing subplots that will push the most dedicated to play it several times. Watch out for the ever-present release bugs, though – best to wait a couple patches if you want to avoid unnecessary hurdles.

Tokuro Fujiwara strikes again by taking Ghosts 'n Goblins back to its roots. As difficult as it gets and as inventive as it gets, this is a return in style for Arthur fans.

8.7 / 10.0 - One Piece Odyssey
Jan 11, 2023

One Piece Odyssey is definitely the best game dedicated to Eiichiro Oda's omnibus work, and a perfect JRPG for newcomers. Those who don't like One Piece or are looking for a more challenging and in-depth experience would do well to look elsewhere, knowing however that such successful adaptations are a very rare commodity indeed.

Immersion, great comfort and atmosphere to spare: The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2 offers very little new compared to the previous chapter, also due to a less interesting adventure, but the survival mechanics still work well and the result is a pleasure to play, especially on PS VR2.

8.6 / 10.0 - State of Decay 2
May 28, 2018

State of Decay 2 proves to be better than the first chapter in all its aspects, despite the limitations of the new multiplayer mode. On Xbox One it's more weak on the technical side, but the price remains great in all the cases.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a good collection, but more because of the games it contains than because of Nintendo's effort in making it. The absence of extras and of Super Mario Galaxy 2 are an unpleasant disappointment.

Guilty Gear Strive is arguably the best 2D competitive fighting game available, but the content at launch is likely to be divisive. Online gamers will love the highly acclaimed Rollback, while solo players might find the singleplayer offer to be inadequate.

We would have preferred a proper sequel, but the gigantic roster gives JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R that encyclopedic value that will keep Hiroiko Araki's fans busy for a long time. The partly revamped audio-visual presentation still holds up well against the weight of years, and the variety of characters is put at the service of a sufficiently complex and satisfying combat system. Too bad about the lack of rollback, but never say never.
