If you don't have Xbox or PC, or simply wanna enjoy it in portable mode, Ori and the Will of the Wisps it's one of the greatest adventures of 2020, and now arrives in a neat physical edition that will let you treasure it with other extras like the ost and a bunch of postcards. A great conversión of a superb metroidvania.

75 / 100 - Pistol Whip
Nov 30, 2020

Pistol Whip 2089 has a very short campaing with 5 levels (or songs), that offer around 30 minutes, cutscenes included. It feels short, and that joins the new gameplay elements, that also feel short (it plays almost the same than Pistol Whip). But, as the great arcades from the 80s, it has some memorable moments than you won't forget easily.

Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia it's not the best "Pokémon-type" game. Indeed, it feels a little bit limited, simple and repetitive, with combats that tends to be long than in other games... But its "bite sized" orientation, with gameplay elementes more condensed, make it ideal for the little ones in da house that dream of becoming a trainer.

Star Wars Tales from the Galaxy's Edge starts pretty good... and stars to deflate more and more as you play. The gameplay doesn't evolve past the first hour, and even if it's a short game, it wastes some opportunities. But even with that, if you love Star Wars you will enjoy it. Interacting with C3PO or Yoda it's not an everyday thing...

72 / 100 - Bugsnax
Nov 11, 2020

Bugsnax in a narrative adventure with some interesting ideas, an unforgettable cast of characters, lovely designs and a great script... that fails as a showcase of PS5 technical power, with come trial and error loop in its gameplay that can be frustrating at times.

87 / 100 - The Pathless
Nov 10, 2020

The Pathless picks ideas from some of the greatest adventures and adapts them to create something new, with its own identity. Maybe it's no the longest, but its one of those titles that you will remember for long time, for its wonderful aesthetic, sound, bosses or the way you move by its world (a mechanic that is highly enjoyable).

Sakuna unfolds as an original action J-RPG, that feels different and it's fun. if you connect with it, you'll find that it's hard to put it aside, even if it can fail in grind and repetition, everything it's well dosed and executed, without the usual problems found on other Nintendo Switch ports. A superb RPG surprise to finish this crazy year.

80 / 100 - Fuser
Nov 8, 2020

FUSER is to DJ games what Guitar Hero was to guitar games: an enjoyable experience with a good music selection. But here you'll find a way more rich, deeper gameplay, and a very exigent one. Start playing FUSER it's easy, but dominate it needs a lot of time. The good part is, whatever discs you throw to the mix, you're gonna love the sound...

80 / 100 - Astro's Playroom
Nov 6, 2020

Astro's Playroom it's the best possible way to try your brand new PS5. It's not just a great tutorial to try all DualSense's new tibdits, it's the best possible homage to the PlayStation brand's 25 years of videogaming history, full of references here and there. And it's free. What a pity that it ends very soon.

80 / 100 - DiRT 5
Nov 2, 2020

Dirt 5 it's a fun and entertaining arcade racer that had born between two generations and, while we're waiting to see the PS5 & Xbox Series X version, that's something that you can feel. It's fun, made for everyone and with a ton of content, but there are problems with textures, mantaining the 60 fps in performance mode and long loading times.

78 / 100 - Part Time UFO
Oct 29, 2020

Two years ago, Part Time UFO was launched on Android, and now, that game arrives to Nintendo Switch, with changes and new additions like coop, physical controls, new modes and all the graphics adapted to horizontal handheld mode. A joyful and fun proposal, for those looking at something lighthearted, replayable and ideal for short sessions.

It's the same game released in 2014 for PS4, and then ported to PS3 and Vita. It's a superb platform adventure, with a touching message and an unforgettable cast. But, if you played back then, here you won't find anything new, neither good or bad, because everything it's here, from the real time savestate to... not controlling Abe with the D-pad.

80 / 100 - Ghostrunner
Oct 26, 2020

As other games that punish the player that fails, Ghostrunner it's not a game for everybody. The "die, repeat, die and repeat again" formula it's not for the faint of heart (or with little time), but if it fits with your tastes, be prepared for and defying experience, with highly inspired chunks and a gratifying satisfaction feeling.

73 / 100 - MindSeize
Oct 2, 2020

MindSeize it's a modest game, both in aspirations and budget, and you can feel it in the execution. The plot and scenes are bland, a very well known gameplay circle that don't surprise... A game that moves in a well known terrain and don't risk a little... but can entertain you if classic 2D metroidvania it's your thing.

Sep 21, 2020

WWE 2K Battleground it's an interesting change of course, an arcade that's far from being perfect, but is by far the most entertaining title that WWE has left in the recent years. It's fantastic for short sessions, with tons of unlockables (even with microtransactions), but it can be repetitive soon and some ideas are far from the right spot.

Vanillaware keeps being faithful to its own style, and now surprises us with a different adventure, 2/3 visual novel, 1/3 strategic combat game, but with a flawless visual style, a solid sci-fi plot and strategic combats with a nice touch. Maybe 13 Sentinels it's not for everybody, but if you have a taste for different dishes, you will love it.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 moves between the old and new like fish on water. It offers the same control, the iconic levels and the gameplay we used to love, but with a new and shiny body, that offers more options than ever. It's not perfect, but it's the skate game that lots of us were expecting.

82 / 100 - CARRION
Jul 23, 2020

Carrion is an interesting metroidvania that starts from a different and interesting idea (you're the monster), that horror films lovers and metroidvania games fans will enjoy. Even with its wonderful pixel art, great ideas and wonderful progression, the final chunk of the game and some minor elements prevent the game from ending with a bang.

An adventure that, like the original, you won't know if it's a joke. You'll love it, or hate it. Unpolish, rough around edges... but still an adventure unique on its own ways. If you connect with it, you'll enjoy it till the end, with a delightful script, crazy situations that will hook you on and all the crazyness you can hope from Francis York.
