While the mixed reviews of Yooka-Laylee made people question if 3D platformers were just a thing of the past to be forgotten, Unbox: Newbie's Adventure shows that new things can still be done in the genre to produce some real gold dust.

Expertly designed with a brilliant and unique concept, Super Rude Bear Resurrection kept me hooked even in its latter stages, where the game's flaws started to become more irritating.

Unfortunately, the game spread itself far too thin over so many genres. Whilst I admire the fusion and accessibility Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom creates between hardcore RPGs and intense fighting games, I wish it would find some focus, and concentrate on sending one clear, beautiful message.
