Final Fantasy XV is good, but not great, and after a decade in development I feel it should be better.
Nier: Automata is easily one of the best games I’ve played in a long time. It evoked an emotional and thoughtful response from me, and overall, is just a tonne of fun to play. It’s polished and gorgeous with a quirky sense of humour to break up the more deep, dark existential themes that run through.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix (despite its clunky title) is an excellent collection of action RPG games. With sleek graphics, interesting characters and a storyline that spans the ages, it’s a great role-playing game for both fans of the series and newcomers alike.
Whether you want to play this game with mates, or just pump up the jams and solo the campaign at your own pace, Wipeout is beyond fun for both fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. If you pick up one racing game over the next few months make it this one, there will be no regrets I can assure you.
It’s a pivotal experience all gamers should have (as well as a justifiable reason to join an anger management group) and I highly recommend it to everyone.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse shot for the sun and missed. Its ambition was high and its intentions were good but it simply doesn’t deliver on what should be a fantastic foray into a world a lot of people in my generation grew up with. Unless you’re a huge fan of the series, this is one that can be safely missed.
It has the graphical brilliance of a triple A title, but the love and meaty gameplay of an indie. It really combines the best of both worlds, and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough to anybody who thinks there’s even a chance they might enjoy it.
Dragon’s Crown Pro is a modern adaptation of old school gameplay that is graphically gorgeous and incredibly entertaining
Overall, Shining Resonance Refrain is a good JRPG experience despite its incredibly slow start. If you have the patience to get into the meat of the story, it rewards you with fun gameplay and a pleasing audio-visual experience. Whilst it’s not breaking any ground in terms of character development or storyline, it’s still a solid game that fans of the genre are sure to enjoy.
Infliction is tense, terrifying and magnificent; a truly horrifying experience for fans of the genre.
Man of Medan sets out to achieve two things: spin a good yarn and scare the crap out of you while it does so. Though it is riddled with glitches and controls like a bulldozer, playing with friends helps these negatives take a backseat to the thrills this game has to offer.
