If you're a fan of Monopoly then the Nintendo Switch version is perfect for you. It doesn't matter if you play it on the big TV or on to go – it's a must have for fans.

Need for Speed Payback with its gambling system based on speed cards instead of real car parts is pure Pay2Win. In addition the open world is empty and lifeless though there is a lot to discover in terms of racing events. The rubber band effect is really bad in this game and cops are as unrealistic as ever in the Need for Speed franchise. Last but not least is the grind which you will have to do if you want to proceed in the game. Don't touch this game – ever!

Despite all the changes and partial removals of Pay2Win elements it's still a broken mess.

5 / 10 - The Inpatient
Jan 23, 2018

The Inpatient is a very slow paced experience that ends when it really gets interesting. It's short play time and limited gameplay possibilities makes it a missed opportunity.

Let's be clear about Mario Party: The Top 100. Its mini games are superb although not every fan favorite made it into the list. But the main and single board is boring and nothing like Mario Party used to be in the old and fun days. At least you only need one module to play four player sessions.

This game is not what it should be. Most of the riddles (the essence of the game) are often misleading and cheating. No logic can solve those wannabe-Professor-Layton brainteasers. What could have been great ended up in a mess. Go and play the old Professor Layton games. You're better off with them.

6 / 10 - NBA 2K18
Sep 20, 2017

2K didn't learn from the Evolve fiasco. NBA 2K18 is one huge Pay2Win game, especially in story mode which could have easily been the best mode in the game. But grinding endlessly for success is not the definition of fun. Other than that the Nintendo Switch version is filled with bugs and technical breakdowns. What a shame because NBA 2K18 is a full port of the game with no cutoffs.

It's a fun game that definitely shows improvement over the last LEGO games. But the absence of the dynamic split screen and the unbelievable amount of game breaking bugs (at least on Nintendo Switch) make the game unplayable at times. Too bad because the potential was there.

With more than 50 new events in two regions it has plenty to offer for fans of winter sports and the Olympics in general. But sadly you can only use your snowboard in story mode.

I think there's nothing more to say about Skyrim that has not already been said. Sadly the experience on Nintendo Switch is a very buggy one because Bethesda didn't care about fixing their stuff. On PC you can use mods from random people to improve the experience but on Nintendo Switch this is simply not possible. So be prepared for some weird stuff going on in your adventure. Other than that Skyrim is a must-play.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is an episodic sequel to the 3DS game and now available on the Nintendo Switch for the first time. It's a solid sequel that runs well on the console-handheld-hybrid but can't quite impress like the first game when it comes to story and gameplay.

7 / 10 - Stifled
Nov 13, 2017

Stifled is an interesting take on a VR horror game. The problem is that you will start moaning stupid sounds into the microphone after a short time which can be pretty annoying. But the rest is solid and something totally new to check out.

Spintires: MudRunner is like heaven for fans of trucks and dirt. It's a pretty realistic simulation which could also hook players that are just interested in an occasional challenge.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red does its job when it comes to fan-service and entertains you for several hours. It's pretty difficult to get into the universe as a newcomer though since nothing ever is explained to you. But if you are new to One Piece and have a friend sitting next to you explaining stuff this game really is fun to play.

7 / 10 - Sonic Forces
Nov 6, 2017

It's no Sonic Mania but it's not that bad either. Your kids will love it as they won't find anything appealing in Sonic Mania. So die-hard Sonic fans should avoid this game but it's perfect for your kids as it's more streamlined and goofy.

7 / 10.0 - Miitopia
Oct 4, 2017

Miitopia isn't a game for everyone but it sure has its audience. Especially gamers that liked the StreetPass games or Tomodachi Life. Parents should definitely look out for this game though if they want to introduce their kids to the gaming world in an easy and fun way.

Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure is not as strong as its predecessors in the Telltale Games lineup but perfect if you need to fill time between appointments as you can take it on the go with your Nintendo Switch. The story which consists of eight episodes is split in two parts where the second part again takes place in four different places and settings. The variety is huge yet the point 'n' click part is cut short which is a shame compared to older games from Telltale. Still, if you enjoy the stories of the studio and want to relax while playing games you probably won't skip this one.

Resident Evil: Revelations for Nintendo Switch is a huge step up from the Nintendo 3DS version. It's a great survival horror experience but can't quite hold up with the HD remasters on other consoles in terms of technical specs. But if you haven't played this one yet be sure to check it out!

Syberia for Nintendo Switch is a solid port for a 15 year old game. In some regards it hasn't aged very well but the story and beautiful places to explore are still as charming as in 2002 and the Switch's handheld mode is suited perfectly for this kind of game.
