I absolutely love video games! I'm a writer and art curator for Pure Nintendo.
7.5 / 10.0 - Prison Architect
Oct 29, 2018

Prison Architect is a fun building game where you get to manage your own prison. It's a little too complex at times and I don't like some of the artwork, but the pros outweigh the cons. I recommend checking it out if you're a fan of sim games.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Sexy Brutale
Jan 10, 2018

The Sexy Brutale is such a neat game and I really enjoyed my time with it. There's so many references to other games and like most murder mysteries, I felt a strong need to keep playing and uncover the truth of what was going on. It's too bad that the Nintendo Switch port suffers from horrible framerate issues. I'm really hoping the developers will make a patch for this soon because TSB is so awesome in every other aspect.

7.5 / 10.0 - Puzzle Box Maker
Jan 17, 2018

Puzzle Box Maker is packed with content. There are over 100 premade levels ready to play and an awesome mode where you can create you very own challenging levels for others to try. While it does seem a bit simplistic at times, its a fun game that will keep you busy for a while.

Draw a Stickman: Epic 2 is a really neat game. While it is on the shorter side it's still a fun adventure that anyone with a little imagination and creativity can enjoy. It's also priced under $10 which makes it even more appealing.

Manticore: Galaxy On Fire offers great on the go play, beautiful scenery and fun customization options. While there isn't much variety throughout the adventure it's still a big step up from it's mobile predecessors.

7.5 / 10.0 - Shakedown: Hawaii
Jun 16, 2019

Regardless of how "intense" it is (or isn't) Shakedown: Hawaii is still a fun, beautiful game, and I enjoyed my overall experience with it.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled is an awesome remake I would love to have played more of…if I were able to. I'm really hoping for an update or some word from Activision support so I can really get into the game and play some online matches.

7.5 / 10.0 - Jet Kave Adventure
Oct 3, 2019

Jet Kave Adventure is a fun action/platformer that anyone can enjoy. It's a little on the short side (for the price) and could use some extra features to keep the player interested, but it looks great and is easy to play.

7.5 / 10.0 - Dex
Aug 26, 2020

Dex lacks in some areas, but I think the overall experience was pretty enjoyable. Being able to make your own choices and have different outcomes adds a lot of replay value. (Not a game for kids)

7.5 / 10.0 - Flame Keeper
Apr 27, 2023

Flame Keepers fast paced combat system is the best part about this game. I really enjoyed running around and testing out all of my new skills and abilities on the various monsters lurking around. The downside is, it can feel repetitive at times which may cause players to lose interest, especially if they find the game to be difficult.

7 / 10.0 - Human: Fall Flat
Dec 18, 2017

Human: Fall Flat could use some more content to keep players coming back, and sometimes Bob can be more than a little frustrating. But overall I enjoyed the use of motion controls and originality when it came to the levels and gameplay.

7 / 10.0 - Caveman Warriors
Dec 28, 2017

Caveman Warriors feels like a polished, retro arcade platformer. I like the way it looks and how simple the controls are. The gameplay can be a bit frustrating at times but being able to play with other people makes the experience a lot more enjoyable.

7 / 10.0 - Element
Aug 28, 2018

Element gets right to the point, but its also kind of repetitive. Still, overall it's an appealing game. The mechanics are easy to get the hang of and I love the retro polygon look. But if you're hesitant about this one, I'd say wait for it's inevitable eShop discount in the future.

So while some improvements definitely need to be made, Cybarian: The Time Traveling Warrior is a neat little game that will present you with a pretty good challenge for just $5.

YIIK is visually appealing, has a nice soundtrack and is pretty funny at times. But the battle system needs a little more polish and the main character was… not my cup of tea.

7 / 10.0 - Exception

Exception is a fun, aesthetically pleasing game. But it offers little to keep the player invested. Some new game modes would be an awesome addition.

Distraint: Deluxe Edition is short and sweet. Unlike the story, which is gruesome and a bit psychotic. I liked the whole experience, but I would have loved a longer playthrough and some different outcomes for the ending.

7 / 10.0 - Rabi-Ribi
Nov 21, 2019

Rabi-Ribi is fun in a lot of ways, it just focuses on being too "cute" and it disconnects the player from any actual storyline. Unless you're a fan of anime and bunny rabbits I'd probably wait for this one to go on sale.

Awesome 16-bit graphics and nostalgia will distract you from the sluggish gameplay. Players unfamiliar with retro brawlers should probably skip out on this one. But if you're a fan of the River City series and want to take a trip back in time, this is a good place to start.

7 / 10.0 - Dropsy
Dec 1, 2022

Dropsy is a game that tries to show the human species that being a good person does matter. While there were some things I would change, especially the controls (I personally couldn't stand them), this is an interesting, original game. If you're a fan of point-and-click adventures, you will definitely want to check this one out.
