8.5 / 10.0 - Deadlink
Aug 6, 2024

A great mixture of fast-paced first-person shooter, rogue-like, and cyberpunk, Deadlink comes out of nowhere to rock your world and keep you on edge until the credits roll!

As the industry shifts more and more towards mediocre service-based AAA games, the value of traditional AA games is becoming more and more obvious, and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a prime example of that. It's not without flaws, but the bold decision making in world design and innovative storytelling separates it from the pack and makes it the best game by Don't Nod to date.

After all the drama, all the hype and a lengthy development process, Skull and Bones is here, and it fails miserably. This is not a AAAA title, and even calling it a AAA title is highly debateable. I wouldn't waste my money on it and I recommend that you don't either.

After the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2020, it seemed like that this franchise doomed as bugs and technical issues aside, the core gameplay failed to live up to all the hype and expectations. But CDPR showed massive drive and dedication with Phantom Liberty, and what we have today is what 2077 should have been. CDPR is definitely back, and Phantom Liberty could be a big turning point for western RPG genre.

9 / 10 - Starfield
Sep 11, 2023

Even though the first quarter of the main story is boring, loading screens pop-up every time you blink and some gameplay mechanisms are lacking, Starfield is still one of the best RPGs we've seen in years and definitely one of the best when it comes to science fiction. Does it live up to the massive hype behind it? Probably not. Will we be playing and talking about it for years to come? Definitely yes!

9.5 / 10.0 - Street Fighter 6
Jun 19, 2023

The three pillars of Street Fighter 6 are accessibility, online features and a huge amount of content at the time of release. If you are a fighting fan, you are in for a treat this year as we still have Mortal Kombat 1 and possibly Tekken 8 to look forward to, although it would be extremely difficult for the other two to stand up to SF6.

As an AA title, The Last Case of Benedict Fox offers a lot of value, and its inclusion in Microsoft Game Pass makes it available to a wider range of audience. It may not revolutionize the Metroidvania genre, but creates a lot of potential for future games to take advantage of.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened targets a very specific group of gamers and delivers for them. It's definitely not for everybody, and if you are mainstream gamer with no interest in detective and puzzle oriented games, you can probably skip this one.

The latest game by Team Ninja may not be a full fledged AAA title by today's standards, but it throws everything it has into the gameplay and the final result can easily take us back to the good old days of Ninja Gaiden games. The future looks bright for Team Ninja and I'm super excited for their upcoming game, Rise of the Ronin.

8.5 / 10.0 - Atomic Heart
Mar 9, 2023

Atomic Heart is not your next best, revolutionary shooter. Instead it's a combination of fulfilled and wasted potentials that could have done much better, but still is damn fun and satisfying to play.

9 / 10.0 - Hi-Fi Rush

After a lackluster line-up in 2022, Microsoft is back in business with Hi-Fi Rush and you are in for a treat especially if you already have a game pass membership.

8 / 10 - Weird West
Apr 25, 2022

A western immersive sim with isometric camera mixed with supernatural elements is something that can only be experienced in video games format; and despite all the technical shortcomings caused by limited resources, Weird West is one of those very unique games that emerge once every 10 years.

8 / 10 - ELEX II
Mar 7, 2022

ELEX II is a good example of being in the right place but at the wrong time. It's a great action role playing with some killer gameplay mechanisms and quest designs, but it just can't compete at the moment, and thus not getting the attention it deserves.

10 / 10 - Forza Horizon 5
Nov 11, 2021

It's always a hard task to raise the bar on something that's already top notch, and when it comes to the racing games, due to the natural limits of the genre, the task gets even harder. But thanks to the now more mature than ever PlayGround studio, Forza Horizon 5 crushes its own bar and reaches a whole new level, easily becoming one of the best and most complete racings of all time, if not THE best.

If you are a true Sony fan who never played on any other device than PlayStation and you are wondering how things are on the other side, then Alan Wake Remastered is one of your best shots, even though it has its fare share of flaws.

8 / 10 - Tell Me Why
Sep 5, 2020

Tell Me Why picks up the story just when the player feels it has nothing more to offer, and carries it until the very end. There are some weird gameplay mechanics going on, and the overall experience is not that solid, but there is no denying that Dontnod knows how to tell a story, and hopefully things will get even more exciting in upcoming season 2.

8 / 10 - Gears 5
Sep 10, 2019

Gears 5 tries to bombard players with tons of contents, and offers many days of entertainment as it aims to introduce itself as a true AAA+ game. The result is a very entertaining game, but is that enough to justify Microsoft's flagship? Not sure. Maybe the only part that Gears 5 shines at is visuals, and while everything else is also okay, we expect a lot more than that from a title like Gears of War.
