The great thing about Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is that it is another delightful Yoko Taro game with all the subversion of known clichés it provides and it is presented using a unique visual aesthetic. But it is not without its faults as gameplay-wise it lacks any big innovation and the random encounters are just too much and sometimes even make your progression a little tiresome.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy offers a very different kind of team-based combat and although sometimes it may feel a little too easy, learning how the combinations of the whole team’s powers work will bring you a lot of joy. The story doesn’t feel anything new in this kind of cosmic adventure narrative but by focusing on likeable characters and giving them great dialogues and enough time to thrive, the developers have managed to elevate their story in the best possible way.

Although the puzzles are not as intricate as Amanita Design’s previous game, the art style and the atmosphere it produces, once again demonstrates that this is one studio that always elevates video games as an art form. Throughout Happy Game you get bombarded with so many eerie scenes that it is totally possible to get psychologically scared which in turn make this a great Halloween gift.

Although The Medium tells a kind of by-the-numbers supernatural story, it still gives you a great mystery well-worth solving. The music and sound design heightens every moment without actually overwhelming the other aspects of the game and the unique visual style which masterfully utilizes the contrast between two very different worlds, helps the gameplay reach higher levels of providing an immersive experience.

War Mongrels not only utilizes all the basic designs of Real Time Tactics genre in a satisfying way but also introduces a brilliant Combat Mode which totally changes the game’s genre, especially if you use co-op, and tells a different kind of second world war story with a lesser known class of characters of this conflict that in the end provides a pretty fun experience.

Except for the visual style which you can count among the best of pixel art designs in the world of video games, The Sundew doesn’t do anything mind-blowing or innovative in its other aspects but it still tells an intriguing, if a little cliché, cyberpunk story and couples it with a classic point-and-click gameplay with good logical puzzles.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is a very satisfying 3D fighting video game but it is kind of muddled by a sub-par exploration part and a lack of content compared to other fighting games. Fortunately, the story and visuals are pretty great and the online fights can be some of the most exhilarating gaming experiences you get to have this year.

Actraiser Renaissance is not necessarily aimed only at the fans of the original and this is actually a good thing because although the developers have kept the core premise and mechanics intact, they have also expanded on them which has given us a nice fantasy story with colorful characters, a more modern combat design and a deeper system in the management parts.

The biggest problem here is the total lack of challenge in puzzle design but on the other hand the simplicity of puzzles makes it a more accessible product for more people. Coupled with nice visuals and a story with universal themes, this is a very enjoyable but short experience.

Lost Judgment has improved enough on the last game’s core ideas and added some fun new systems to put its name forward as one of the best sequels in years. More importantly, the story deals with very timely issues that the real life decision makers don’t seem to be paying as much attention to as they should which we’ll have some dire consequences for all of us.

The birds and the way you can customize them to your heart’s content is really cute and the design of the skating grounds which make normal everyday objects feel so huge is a really great idea that is executed well but sadly because of bad camera design and kind of sluggish controls, the core skating gameplay is not as fun as it should be.

This is the compilation of this franchise’s a quarter of the century history and what a ride it is. The story is more mature than ever and characters and the way their relationships are shaped throughout the narrative is as good as it gets. As much as Square Enix are steering their flagships towards more fast-paced and modern gameplay philosophies, they are still committed to providing old-school JRPG experiences and you probably can’t get more old-school than Bravely Default II which brings you “the grind”, fun characters, beautiful backgrounds and also puts its own unique spin on one of the video game industry’s oldest formulas.
