Chris White's Reviews

I write about video games for God is a Geek. I'm a pretty cool guy, just ask my mum.

Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling is a beautiful and engrossing journey, filled with fun combat that never loses its edge.

8 / 10.0 - Skelattack
Jun 2, 2020

Skelattack is an indie platformer filled with charm, thrusting you into a beautifully designed world. It's punishing and frustrating, yet it always gives you the tools to plot your success.

May 29, 2020

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is a great continuation of the story, but the cost is rather steep for what you're getting. Fujin and Sheeva are brilliant additions to the roster, even if RoboCop doesn't work as well.

May 28, 2020

Red Wings: Aces of the Sky is filled with over 50 missions, and although there's plenty to do and the controls are easy to get used to, it does become repetitive after a while.

May 26, 2020

Super Mega Baseball 3 is a solid baseball sim, proving grounded gameplay that allows anyone to jump in. With loads of customisation options and a great Franchise mode, it's easily the best in the series.

8.5 / 10.0 - Get Packed
May 18, 2020

Get Packed is a brilliant couch co-op game, but if you're looking to play online, there's little to no chance at the moment. However, if you're looking to play with your household, you'll likely spend hours enjoying the frantic and funny gameplay.

9 / 10.0 - WHAT THE GOLF?
May 17, 2020

What the Golf? is an addictive physics-based puzzler, packed full of courses that are completely different and challenging from the last, with tons of surprises to boot.

May 14, 2020

Although it was good in 2001, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is let down on Nintendo Switch by awkward camera angles, frustrating controls, and bland environments.

9 / 10.0 - Indivisible
May 11, 2020

Indivisible is just as good as it ever was, and the visuals hold up well on the Nintendo Switch. The story is engrossing, the gameplay is challenging yet fun, and the hand drawn environments are beautiful.

9 / 10.0 - John Wick Hex
May 5, 2020

John Wick Hex on PS4 is a faithful take on the movie franchise, providing challenging gameplay, a superb soundtrack, and an authentic experience. Although the game's difficulty ramps up towards the end, it's still a great approach to adapting the movies into a video game.

Apr 30, 2020

Predator: Hunting Grounds is adecent asymmetrical online shooter, despite lacking the polish of bigger, more established games. Although there aren't a lot of modes, and load times to play as the Predator are too long, it's still a lot of fun.

9.5 / 10.0 - Streets of Rage 4
Apr 29, 2020

Streets of Rage 4 is wonderful. Everything from the combat to the soundtrack is crafted with a great respect for the originals, providing a fresh take on the popular series.

5.5 / 10.0 - Shred! 2
Apr 29, 2020

Shred! 2 is a tough game with unresponsive controls, meaning it's often tough to balance landing a jump successfully and hitting a trick required to get you those all elusive stars.

9 / 10.0 - Moving Out
Apr 23, 2020

Moving Out is filled with plenty of beautifully designed buildings, providing plenty of challenges for you to enjoy alone or with up to three friends.

8 / 10.0 - Paper Beast
Apr 1, 2020

Paper Beast is a wonderful puzzle game that features a stunning sondtrack, a poignant story, and some tender moments that leave you breathless.

9 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 3
Mar 30, 2020

Resident Evil 3 is a superb remake of the original, with Nemesis being the clear highlight. Although inventory management and aiming can be a problem, it's still a fantastic game.

Mar 26, 2020

The Room VR: A Dark Matter is a puzzle-heavy game that keeps you immersed from start to finish, with wonderfully crafted rooms and challenges.

7.5 / 10.0 - Bloodroots
Feb 27, 2020

Bloodroots offers a satisfying gameplay loop, and the variety of weapons often make up for the overly difficult areas.

If you've never played Vanquish and Bayonetta before, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They provide very different experiences, but both take combat to the next level and neither one feels dated, even though they released 10 years ago.

10 / 10.0 -
Feb 12, 2020

As overwhelming as it is, Dreams is a unique and impressive game that offers plenty of ways for players to create whatever they want, with a great sense of community.
