Indivisible Reviews Summary

Summary: Indivisible moves its Skullgirls-like art into an RPG/metroidvania mash-up that pleases most players, even if it doesn't floor them. Some polish is lacking and people are lukewarm on the story, but critics still tended to enjoy it for the good it does with combat and exploration.

Uncommon Combat

This turn-based combat system is unlike those you're maybe used to.

Active and Inventive Traversal

Metroidvania elements keep players returning to uncover more.

Lacks Some Polish

This long-delayed game could've used even more time.

Indivisible is an action RPG / platformer featuring stunning hand drawn art and animation combined with unique real-time combat mechanics. Immerse yourself in a fantastical world with dozens of playable characters, a rich storytelling experience, gameplay that’s easy to learn but difficult to master, and the trademark razor-sharp quality that Lab Zero Games is known for! Our story revolves around Ajna, a fearless girl with a rebellious streak. Raised by her father on the outskirts of their rural town, her life is thrown into chaos when her home is attacked, and a mysterious power awakens within her. Throughout Ajna’s quest she’ll encounter many “Incarnations”: people whom she can absorb and manifest to fight alongside her. By uniting people from faraway lands, Ajna will learn about herself, the world she inhabits, and most importantly, how to save it.

Indivisible manages to merge 2D platforming, thrilling combat, and a thought-provoking story resulting in one of the most wildly creative RPGs of the year.

Indivisible's inventive battle system brings the thrill of a fighting game to a JRPG-like party system but its platforming sections aren't as magical.

An agreeably peculiar mix of role-playing game and Metroidvania but whose best feature is its charming visuals and one of the most endearing cast of characters seen in a long time.
