I write about video games for God is a Geek. I'm a pretty cool guy, just ask my mum.

Despite the action on the court being fun, it's the looming frustrations of microtransactions that hinder player development and the overall appeal of the game.

There was never any doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 was going to be good, but this is something special. A masterpiece that many will be talking about for decades to come.

8.5 / 10.0 - SoulCalibur VI

The six years waiting for a new Soulcalibur game have been worth it. This is fantastic combat with plenty of depth, and even the new Reversal Edge mechanic is a godsend.

8.5 / 10.0 - WWE 2K19
Oct 9, 2018

It is a massive improvement for the series, with plenty of great modes to choose from, along with so many great wrestlers past and present to wrestle with. It finally feels like things are looking up for WWE 2K.

Not only is it the best platformer on the PSVR, it's also good enough to rival some of the recent releases on modern consoles. It's a fun, friendly, and charming title that will make you 'ooh' and 'ahh' for the game's duration.

I thoroughly enjoyed the VR elements including it's stellar gameplay. Matches are intense, and the focus on team play does the game justice.

6 / 10.0 - Blind

Whilst the story is good, and the mansion creates an uneasy atmosphere that begs to be explored, the puzzles are far too specific, and the lighting and design within the environment is hard to process in VR.

9.5 / 10.0 - FIFA 19

This is without a doubt the best football game of the year - potentially of all time. With great improvements to how you play, additional modes in FUT, the addition of the Champion's League, and visual enhancements in every mode, you'll find it hard to put the controller down.

8 / 10.0 - NBA 2K19
Sep 18, 2018

NBA 2K19 is a joy to play, but with progression in MyCareer often halted due to lack of VC, you have to wonder why 2K wants you to struggle to progress, especially after last year's concerns.

Fire Pro Wrestling World is the best wrestling game on the market, better than any WWE 2K released to date. It reminds me of classics like Wrestlemania 2000 and Smackdown Just Bring It, back in a time when wrestling games were fun to play without the constant need to turn them into a sports sim.

8.5 / 10.0 - Shenmue 1 & 2
Aug 20, 2018

As someone who's been waiting so long to play them once again, and knowing Shenmue III is on the horizon, playing the original games on current gen and PC is something you should certainly do because they provided so many firsts for video games.

If you're new to the game it's going to take a lot of time to get past the surface scratching, but once you've caught up there's plenty to love. And if you're coming back to No Man's Sky, things have changed quite a bit, but embrace it and explore with much more of a reason to.

8 / 10.0 - The Persistence

This is one of the better VR titles available on the PlayStation 4, and the variety at which you get to customise your character paired with the survival horror make it a fun game to play.

A fitting end to the trilogy, and fans of the series so far will not be disappointed with the new gameplay features or the excellent storytelling.

Whilst not the most challenging of games, it still offers fans of the show a chance to enjoy it in a different light. Gameplay can become laborious, though, and the world is more vacant than it should be.

Shining Resonance Refrain isn't a terrible game, it's just riddled with incredibly poor decisions which almost overshadow a great combat system.
