No Recommendation / Blank - Dead In Vinland
Aug 7, 2019

Nordic strategy and crippling depression combine to make Dead in Vinland a compelling and frustrating experience.

The modern twists, such as freedom of choice, an open world map, and near limitless side quests, separates Artifact Adventure Gaiden DX from its inspiration.

Rick May stumble out of the gate early on, but these attributes give Fox N Forests an identity of its own, allowing Bonus Level’s debut to stand toe-to-toe with its nostalgic contemporaries.

Tight controls and a perfectly vintage soundtrack make Aggelos a game that should be enjoyable by anyone that loves the 8/16-bit eras of gaming.

Some of the earlier Final Fantasy games simply transcend time and need to be made available for the newer generations, and this is one that I hope to see them experience

Recommended - Warframe
Feb 21, 2019

As for Warframe, it’s a pretty simple choice if you’re a fan of the modern western RPGs in the same category as Mass Effect or Skyrim. The same goes for gamers that enjoy squad based, online combat. I’ll reiterate that Warframe is a FREE download – if you have fear that the game is weighted with micro transactions, let it go. Are they there? Yes, but they never feel necessary in the least bit. Warframe offers an experience on the Switch that you can’t experience with any other game on the console. I would recommend making sure you have an SD card before downloading it because it certainly does absorb a ton of space. I can’t think of any other reason to avoid giving Warframe on the Nintendo Switch a download.

There is so much about this game that left me feeling that it was close to being the love letter to old school RPGs that it aspired to be. However, it manages to come up just short with its best features while going way overboard with its worst. LeGrand Legacy will provide you with about 30 or so hours of gameplay, but you can stretch it out to 40 if you care to comb through limitless walls of text to find the deepest details of the history of LeGrand. There is a respectable amount of content here that will only cost you about $20 USD, but unfortunately, I simply can’t recommend the Switch version at this time.

Dragonball Xenoverse 2 is available on other consoles, and I have played them, but the Switch is the best place for the game to call home. The handheld options take the game to a new level, online battles work just fine with Nintendo Switch Online, and local multiplayer is a blast even with joycons. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 for the Nintendo Switch is easily one of the best Dragonball games ever made, and it surpasses The Legacy of Goku as the best localized Dragonball RPG ever. Although the game has been out for a while now, it’s still going strong. It is a great time to pick it up due to its $40USD price point, and brand-new DLC that adds Broly and Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta are just on the horizon. Simply put, this game is a MUST PLAY for Dragonball fans.

No Recommendation / Blank - Bendy and the Ink Machine
Jan 4, 2019

At the end of the day there is something to appreciate about a game that makes it feel OK for kids to play through a creepy story. Bendy and the Ink Machine manages to provide “PG-13 horror” in a game that I’ve never seen done before previously. If you’re in search of a game that you can play with the kids that isn’t within the realm of a party game or a fighter, Bendy could very well be the story for you, if you can get past the very obvious Bioshock comparisons and the couple of irritating bugs within.
