Critic Reviews for Reverie
Reverie's a bite-sized adventure in the same vein as Link's GameBoy adventures and half as filling. There are some charming ideas and brain-teasing puzzles but not much else that truly sets it apart.
While not as deep and rewarding as the material it's riffing on, Reverie's ode to Zelda presents a charming trip through New Zealand folklore that's worth checking out.
Reverie has nothing to surprise with, but it takes the best elements of SNES' action-adventure games and adds some of its own charm. Safe and fun title, especially for fans of the retro style.

A small indie title that's big on ambition, featuring addictive gameplay and cute pixel graphics.
Reverie is a that I highly recommend you play today. It's a cross-buy release, so that means one purchase will get you the PS Vita and the PS4 versions of the game so that you can play it at home or on the go. Trophy hunters are going to enjoy getting the game's Platinum trophy, but the best news for them is that the PS Vita and the PS4 trophy lists are two separate lists, which means that if you play the game from start to finish on the console and the portable, finish all side-quests and take care of the miscellaneous trophies, then they will be able to get a ton of trophies for their collection in a single purchase! And yes, the game is fun enough for you to play it twice and still find it very entertaining.
Reverie is a game with Kiwi heart and soul, it is a love letter to New Zealand, to classic adventure puzzle games, and to childhood summers spent daydreaming being an explorer and hero.
Developer Rainbite has taken inspiration from some of the best classics ever, and they have delivered a small-scale game that's both a great homage and a release that manages to stand on its own. Reverie is a fun game to play for pretty much everyone that enjoys action games. Reverie is totally worth your time and money, and I look forward to seeing what the team does for their next game!
Reverie catches attention because of its nostalgic inspirations, and does enough to hold the player through its short and fun hours. Its setting, story and little eccentricities make up for the dull gameplay, delivering a fun experience and making it stand out from similar games.
