This might not be a roller coaster ride from the very beginning but once a rather cumbersome beginning is done with, every Star Wars fan will be mired in a universe of light saber duels, the Force and a majestic John Williams soundtrack. A very welcome conversion that brings an old classic to the current Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark is a tactical RPG that may seem like it's trying to follow the footsteps of its older counterparts but that doesn't mean it's not a game with its own merits. With a stunning visual environment, a top notch audio environment and an immense variety of characters, Fell Seal is easily accessible for most players and well worthy of praise.

8 / 10 - Telling Lies
May 19, 2020

Telling Lies on the Nintendo Switch brings a new life to the world of story-based games that make use of an FMV presentation. With its compelling plot and simple but capturing gameplay, a very good performance by its actors and a sharp use of the Nintendo Switch touch screen, Telling Lies will be more than enjoyed by players who will gladly keep a close focus on long video scenes to follow the story and make necessary choices based on what they just watched and heard.

8 / 10 - MouseCraft
Mar 6, 2020

Mousecraft on the Nintendo Switch doesn't reinvent the puzzle game genre, but it's fun and intuitive enough to be a very welcome addition to the list of options populating Nintendo's console. With enough inspiration from other major puzzlers, most players will find themselves enjoying delightful short segments around this piece of gaming, while fans of puzzle games will find it a marvelous experience, regardless of the time they spend with it.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a spin-off based on a card game featured on The Witcher 3. That said, it's a marvelous work that joins enticing and involving gameplay mechanics, a gorgeous art style and an addictive experience. While certainly not an easy feat to play through, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is more than welcome on the Nintendo Switch catalogue and opens the way for more spin-offs to come.

Spirit Hunter: NG is a horror-themed visual novel and one which gets all its main points right. Played pretty much like an interactive book, this game performs equally well when played on a television screen and on the Nintendo Switch itself, a real demonstration that horror has no format limits. With its well written plot, spine-chilling ambiance and audiovisual environment that fits the game's idea just right, Spirit Hunter: NG is just what any fan of horror in the Nintendo Switch could hope for.

There's plenty of action to keep the players around the screens and the omnipresent humour and marvelous looking visuals do wonders for the game's capital. It's true that its plot could use some reworking and its controls would improve with a bit of tweaking but Luigi's Mansion 3 is such an entertaining experience that by now, it only makes a fourth game in the series more desired.

Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns stands out from its RPG peers - in fact, it stands out so much it runs the risk of not being seen as an RPG but as something else, given its influence of simpler and more immediate works. None of that stands on the way of a fun experience, it must be said: with over two hundred missions, an addictive gameplay and involving soundtrack, Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns may not be your typical RPG but that absolutely must not be used in a pejorative way, quite the contrary.

Two Point Hospital was not originally made for the Nintendo Switch but this adaptation works so well that it's easy to forget about that. Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ on the Nintendo Switch is a visual novel that gets everything right. While there's not a lot of new gameplay paths to explore, the game's plot, art style, the choices involved, the soundtrack and the overall performance make this a work that will please everyone, and even though visual novels aren't everyone's cup of tea, Code: Realize most definitely deserves an opportunity.

Distraint: Deluxe Edition is a short but marvelous experience. A disturbing plot, a nerve-wrecking environment, an enveloping soundtrack and a simple but straight-to-the-point gameplay, they all contribute to make Distraint on the Nintendo Switch a game that often feels more like a playable literary experience. No recommendation is emphatic enough for this gem, which unreservedly earned the right to be in the collection of every Switch player.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is a hallucinating journey through a short but intense game world that plunges the player into a neon cyberpunk aesthetic coupled with a fantastic soundtrack and delivers an effort that would be close to perfection would it not come to an end just when the experience feels like it's reaching its climax.

10 / 10 - Coffee Talk
Jan 28, 2020

Coffee Talk is a visual novel where the gameplay is based on preparing and serving coffees. A simple explanation but which barely scratches the surface of this work, which is immensely rewarding and welcoming for those who invest some time and effort on it. With a plot that includes a variety of characters, the story advances according to the quality of the drinks the player prepares and if that doesn't sound like anything extraordinary, it more than deserves an opportunity and it's played marvelously anywhere.
