8 / 10.0 - Ys X: Nordics
Sep 30, 2023

As the latest game in the Ys series, Ys X: Nordics doesn't stray far from the familiar formula. It takes a cautious approach, delivering a JRPG experience of consistent quality that lasts around 30-40 hours. If you're looking for a return to a classic RPG adventure with well-rounded combat, systems and gameplay, or if you have a deep affection for the Ys series, then this game will certainly meet your expectations.

Risk of Rain Returns partly reflects the progress made in the Roguelite genre a decade ago. However, compared to many modern Roguelite games that have kept up with the times, it still shows some clear flaws and areas that need improvement.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a great adventure game that tells a love story mixed with life and death, set in the colonial era. It looks at remembering the sacrifices and bloody history.

8 / 10.0 - Hades II
May 8, 2024

Hades 2 left me feeling increasingly tired as I continued to play. Especially if you're playing for the sake of progressing, building and fighting, rather than exploring the story and observing NPC dialogue under different conditions, a sense of Sisyphean futility will soon set in. Fortunately, the developers haven't abandoned the strengths that made Hades great. In fact, it's precisely because the two games share a similar overall experience that the new designs in Hades 2 seem less well thought out than the original.

7.9 / 10.0 - Scorn
Oct 14, 2022

Scorn is a mind-blowing experience that will satisfy the eyes of thrill-seekers. But walking through such a flesh and blood maze, only visually experience is not enough. The gameplay and art are supposed to complement each other. I wonder if Scorn is held back by the mediocre gameplay or is too high by the impressive art - its poor bones can hardly hold up its entire core experience, which eventually leads to a discrepancy between the exterior and the interior.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction is a highly difficult and stressful co-op shooter with a rich mission design and slightly in-depth tactical elements.

As a Roguelike game, "Warm Snow" is still insufficient in content and depth, its balance is average.

7.8 / 10.0 - Triangle Strategy
Mar 9, 2022

The SLG part of Triangle Strategy is quite worth playing, but this game slightly falls short in terms of story design and role development freedom and still lags far behind Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics, the games to which it pays homage. Despite being unremarkable, it is still an SLG game worth trying, given the scarcity of this type of games lately.

7.8 / 10.0 - DNF Duel
Jun 28, 2022

As an IP-derived fighting game, DNF Duel is up to standard. Each available character has distinctive characteristics and interesting gameplay, and the simple operation makes it easier to attract fans' attention and devote themselves to it. Unfortunately, the deficiencies of storyline and gameplay, as well as the too-simple combat mechanism, make it difficult to really become an addictive fighting game.

7.8 / 10.0 - Cult of the Lamb
Aug 10, 2022

Cult of the Lamb is worthy of attention from both roguelike fans and simulation players - even if the gameplay is a bit lacking in both design depth. But the developers know how to use hell jokes to keep players interested.

7.8 / 10.0 - Dead Island 2
Apr 20, 2023

Dead Island 2 is a traditional blood and guts slaughterfest, and if you haven't grown tired of zombie bashing by 2023, it's still worth a play. The experience is both heavenly and hellish, like the average genius who tries to entertain but can't always be sure if the next act is a hit or a miss.

7.8 / 10.0 - Children of the Sun
Apr 10, 2024

Children of the Son ingeniously combines sandbox levels, tactical planning, and puzzle-solving within the scope of a single sniper rifle to create a unique little gem of a game. However, it is limited to being a good concept and a short experience, struggling to sustain replayability or deeper exploration of its mechanics.

Another Crab's Treasure is an excellent souls-like game disguised as a cute game, although it still has room for optimization, the overall experience is unique. The interesting shell-switching mechanism runs throughout, and the solid combat is addictively engaging.

The Callisto Protocol is a very delicate Dead Space-like game: excellent horror atmosphere, outstanding graphics, and a fairly good combat experience, but the actual content is difficult to meet the high expectations of players. I was very disappointed after playing it, because it's hard to imagine such a highly anticipated work being so mediocre, it could have been a better game.

7.6 / 10.0 - Corpse Keeper
Feb 15, 2023

Corpse Keeper doesn't just have a unique art style, it also has more hardcore content. It looks like a side-scrolling fighting game, but the core gameplay is completely different from fighting, and as a roguelike, it's also in the higher difficulty range. While there are some design balance issues with the current version, it's still a challenging experience. For those who enjoy Sekiro-style combat and resource management in the vein of Darkest Dungeons, Corpse Keeper is indeed a worthy effort.

Dying Light 2 is a satisfactory but unremarkable sequel in the franchise. It is nearly impeccable in terms of its parkour gameplay and the narrative driven by scene exploration. However, the awkward performance and lack of details make the story plot mediocre. It should have been a much better game.

The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle expansion brings an exciting new story to the eight-year-old online game, and once again expands the breadth of the world of The Elder Scrolls series. The new "High Isle" map is rich in explorable contents, and the "Tales of Tribute" card game is no less fun than "Gwent". If you are a player who loves The Elder Scrolls series, immersing yourself in the world of The Elder Scrolls Online must be a perfect experience.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood offers the chance to explore mysticism, tarot reading and philosophical ideas, taking you on a seven to eight hour journey of self-reflection. However, if you are looking for a compelling plot, engaging characters and a relaxing experience, this may not be the best option. No Rest for the Wicked is a game that truly deserves the label 'promising'. There is no denying the exceptional quality of its art and the quality of its action gameplay, but the negative experience caused by errors in numerical balance and system design completely undermine the excellent impression left by its other aspects.
