Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is a wonderful modern reimagination of the Wonder Boy franchise. The story and graphics are filled with nods to the franchise’s long history.
The Blackout Club is an excellent cooperative stealth game that splashes in a little bit of horror to spice things up. While it is still plagued by some minor bugs, it’s a fantastically tense experience that fans of first person stealth games will enjoy.
For better or for worse, Earth Defense Force 5 is a fast paced shooter that pays tribute to B-movies and poorly localized PlayStation 2 games.
A solid realistic RTS hobbled by extremely steep learning curve, awkward control schemes, and disjointed single player scenarios.
Void Bastards is a tense and cerebral rogue-lite that mixes the best of FTL: Faster than Light and System Shock.
A Plague Tale: Innocence offers a fantastic story backed by excellent voice actors and a decent stealth-adventure mechanics. Just don’t expect a major challenge.
Fade to Silence’s strong premise is marred by clumsy execution, poor writing, and painfully slowed pacing.
World War Z is a solid co-operative shooter that offers fans of the genre a faster paced alternative.
Tropico 6 is a solid new addition to the long running series that tightens up and expands the game in the right direction.
A great premise that was terribly executed. Generation Zero is painfully boring and repetitive.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 takes an already solid first game, adds a ton of great new content and polishes it to a mirror shine.
Anthem falls way short of the hype due to repetitive missions and lack of content.
Far Cry New Dawn offers a more polished take on Far Cry 5’s mechanics. It’s good enough that I wish they would go back and implement the changes to challenges and perks in 5.
Metro Exodus isn’t a perfect game, but it’s a refreshing update to the franchise.
While the game could use some polish, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 translates well as a video game.
If you can get over the terrible story and a few frustrating missions, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is a solid arcade flight sim.
Insurgency: Sandstorm offers an intense tactical FPS experience, but needs more polish and content
While Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden has some growing pains to deal with, it’s still a satisfying tactical RPG.
Battlefield V is a solid shooter but feels like it should have been delayed a few months to ensure all features would be available at launch.
A game that feels like it was rushed out of development. It falls well short of potential due to lack of content, a few poor design decisions, and bugs.
