Azfar Rayan's Reviews
At its core, the Silent Hill 2 Remake has been a fantastic experience. It's an outstanding replication of the original game that updates the experience while still maintaining its origin. Not to mention, Silent Hill 2 Remake is undoubtedly one of the most visually impressive games I've played in a very long time.
Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports is an ideal game for those familiar with the Looney Tunes series. The game's simple controls and spontaneous designs make it suitable for kids and other casual players seeking a good time. It may not have the finesse of other titles in its genre and isn't as endearing or deep as competing sports games.
EA SPORTS FC 25 might not meet expectations if you anticipate a radically different experience from the previous installment. The game expands upon the last versions by introducing new tactical elements, making the gameplay more engaging. That shall suffice some, while others may see it as identical to the previous installment.
The Karate Kid: Street Rumble may not be the greatest beat 'em up you were hoping for, but it's still fun to play. Those who loved the movie will find many nostalgic moments since all the characters' personalities are kept intact in the game's presentation.
Somewhere beneath all that greed, NBA 2K25 is a decent game from 2K Games. I've always pointed out how much effort Visual Concepts puts into this series, and it's admirable. But the game's initial pricing is $70, with the Hall of Fame edition costing $150, and every year, it feels like we're simply buying DLC for visual patches for that amount.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is simply amazing. Even if you haven't played the original or are unaware of the Warhammer lore or the franchise in general, you'll still get a taste of the game's heightened thrill after playing it. The endless warfare made the Space Marines so fun to play, and Space Marine 2 is the ideal setting for those who remain faithful to the franchise.
Black Myth: Wukong is a fantastic game and lives up to its hype. It's an exciting but challenging journey with a distinct setting and approach. Souls enthusiasts might dislike the combat but will undoubtedly love the challenge. It may seem overwhelming initially to those unfamiliar with action RPGs, but the game's difficulty isn't overly demanding after you get beyond a few boss encounters. If you enjoy restless action and boss encounters, Black Myth: Wukong is the game you should definitely try.
CYGNI: All Guns Blazing followed the shoot 'em up genre's traditional standards and absolutely nailed it. It creates a fantastic gameplay cycle that demonstrates how less is frequently more, staying true to the simplicity of vintage arcade shooters and bringing back all the feelings we had for these games.
Closer The Distance surely is made with much care, with excellent acting and writing, and offers a heartfelt and open-ended premise. You might end up connecting yourself with the game while you heal broken connections, get insight into their history, and give them the strength to persevere through difficult times. If you like emotionally charged, story-driven experiences, you will surely love Closer The Distance.
The Create A Team mode was the only feature that made me like F1 Manager 2024 since there weren't many changes from the previous version. The experience is improved overall by the additional features, which provide a new level of planning and personalization. There is room for development in the series, including the addition of replay features for previous races and the correction of a few small bugs in this year's installment. Those who like management simulation games or are fans of the series will surely love it.
There are some great moments in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, but overall, it's just an average ARPG game. It crawls to a halt at the beginning, while the plot and character development fall well short of expectations. I wouldn't call it an exceptional game or anything that really leaps out. It took me just over twenty hours to finish the game on normal while grinding a bit for reputation and resources to upgrade.
Shadow of the Erdtree is a well-executed and thoughtful expansion of Elden Ring. There is nothing quite like Shadow of the Erdtree, and it's way more fantastic than any DLC can be. Just like Elden Ring did, Shadow of the Erdtree re-created the sensation of a first playtime and will remain in my mind for quite some time. The fighting possibilities are endless, the bosses are mind-blowing spectacles that are a blast to master, and the legacy dungeons are fabulous, and the new upgrading system allows you to relive the base game's progression. I can't help but recommend Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree high enough to anyone who is still unsure of their tastes; it's incredible.
Alan Wake II: Night Springs isn't very substantial or long-lasting unless you're a huge fan of Alan Wake II. And the DLC ends with so many unanswered questions. Perhaps the second DLC will answer all these, but for now, unless you're a huge fan of Alan Wake, you won't find it satisfying. So far, I would recommend holding off till the second DLC drops unless you are an absolute Remedy fanatic.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door probably has one or two issues that might annoy you, but it's also one of the greatest and wildest role-playing games ever made. It's undoubtedly one of the finest and most adored role-playing games of all time. The remake adds several renewed concepts that make it stand apart even more. It's hard not to admire the way it continues the unique turn-based combat mechanism of the previous installments while adding gorgeous visuals, a wide range of characters, and hilarious scripting.
The target audience for Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is certain to be narrow. This game is purely designed for fans of narrative-heavy games where the gameplay takes a back seat, as well as those who want to play the sequel to the original. Some portions are spot on, and other parts fail badly at maintaining the mood while attempting to stay true to the concept. On the other hand, it is highly difficult to recommend this game due to its linear plot-oriented experience, lack of fighting, and difficulty in completing puzzles.
Even though there were some issues; those things weren't enough to detract from my liking of the game. I still believe that anyone who enjoys action RPGs will adore Stellar Blade. The story could use a bit of work in the end, but I nevertheless relished my experience with it since games like this usually never have a solid ending. SHIFT UP might have preserved some content for future DLCs, as the game felt a bit smaller than I had hoped for. Still, its action-packed gameplay makes up most of those areas, and the game's character designs are definitely outstanding.
TopSpin 2K25 surely has the potential to serve as a solid basis for future releases that can build upon the gameplay mechanism that is satisfying to the player. Although the gameplay of TopSpin 2K25 has been painstakingly created to appeal to tennis enthusiasts, the game's lack of content may disappoint quite a few players. Nonetheless, TopSpin 2K25 will satisfy the needs of those who have been yearning for a tennis simulation.
Children of the Sun is a game that is not only bizarre but also highly exciting; it is one of the more unusual games that I have played in recent times. A brief yet charming puzzle shooter that draws inspiration from Killer7, Mandy, and Sniper Elite. You'll have to play (and restart) a bunch of levels until you figure out the best path to take to defeat all of the enemies and top the scoreboard.
Put simply, I am hesitant to suggest South Park: Snow Day! to anyone who isn't a fan of South Park. In my opinion, the gameplay isn't solid enough for anyone to have fun with this. This game becomes tedious in a very short span of time. The jokes in the previous two games were a major selling point since they made the otherwise dull gameplay more interesting. Alternatively, the game's humor is nonexistent, and the gameplay becomes exceedingly dull.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is simply an unending, beautiful, open-world fantasy RPG, possibly one of this generation's most dynamic and extensive open-world RPGs. It's jam-packed with side quests and dynamic events, and the game's many locations provide ample opportunity for exploration and discovery of the new lore. If you are looking for a high-adrenaline, gratifying action role-playing game with a concentration on the battle, Dragon's Dogma 2 is just what you are looking for.
