Jul 16, 2024

Magical Delicacy is a cooking metroidvania which you can easily lose yourself in. Like any good fantasy, it encourages exploration and it doesn't punish you for your mistakes. With an intriguing story, you can really put yourself in Flora's shoes as you learn about the Kingdom of Grat with her.

While QUALIA ~Path of Promise~ has a strong premise, I feel like it didn't hit the mark in terms of what it could do as a story. While some fans may enjoy it, if you're looking for an immersive visual novel, this probably won't be for you.

Death Trick: Double Blind is a point-and-click story full of twists, turns, and compelling characters. I came for the circus, but I stayed for the references to Ace Attorney and Sherlock Holmes.

While it can be jarring jumping from 2D animation into 3D, all three games tie into each other pretty well and offer a fun experience for both old and new fans.

Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is a short and sweet game that may get repetitive, but is overall a fun one for newcomers and fans of Invincible. If you have a few hours, I recommend giving it a go.

Despite some minor issues and some disorienting audio, I appreciated the metanarrative and surrealism of [I] doesn't exist. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys story-rich games.

I can barely find the words to describe the emotional experience that is Goodbye Volcano High. While there are a few sound blips, the music, voice acting, and story were phenomenal, and these teenage dinosaurs were truly relatable.

5.5 / 10.0 - SOULVARS
Jul 30, 2023

Overall, the gameplay mechanics of SOULVARS were enjoyable, but the story is repetitive and the characters and story felt lacking. If you enjoy deck-builders, this should be up your alley, but if you're here for the narrative I would look elsewhere.
