Icosi-do is in an interesting place. The price seems a bit high initially for how minimalistic it is, but the puzzles are really good and get far more challenging as you progress. It also has a co-op and versus mode, although those seemed to be for more in-person or over steam streaming as the game has no net code for multiplayer. But even without online play, those modes give it a lot of value. If you like logic puzzles and games that can get hard without being frustrating, then I highly recommend icosi-do. So with no hesitation at all, I can say:
I have memories of playing this type of game in the 90s and early 2000s on a PC. So, I was a bit interested to try this type of game now that I am older and have access to more kinds of games. While Lost Amulets: Mystic Land is a perfect game for people who love finding hidden objects and matching mahjong tiles, that’s just about all it has to offer. It doesn’t really innovate its genre, nor does it provide anything for a player outside of the target audience to really enjoy. The lack of meaningful storyline and challenges meant I was not really engaged through most of their levels. The music and the art didn’t really pull me in either. I honestly do not think it’s worth the price tag unless you are a mahjong enthusiast.
I knew what I was going into and while RWBY: Arrowfell isn’t perfect, I had fun. Being a fan of RWBY certainly helped but anyone who enjoys platformers should have a good time if they pick this up. There were definitely some highs and lows but I had a blast playing it. That being said, the price is a bit steep for what it is but most licensed games are a bit more pricey.
There’s so much more that I can say about this game but if you enjoy RPGs, humour and whimsy, and unique interesting combat systems then This Way Madness Lies is worth the time. It’s a bite-sized RPG that respects your time and is designed so that its audience is broad. From casual players to hardcore completists’, there is something in this game for everyone.
If I had gone off my first play-through, where I ignored half the tutorial for a bit, I’d have probably been unsure about this game. But my second play-through, where I was used to the game’s quirks, was extremely enjoyable. For the price, Megalan 11 is a worthwhile puzzle adventure game to pick up. Just be prepared to have a few frustrating moments. I’d also recommend playing on normal the first time that you play instead of hard. So that the time limit doesn’t hurt your play-through.
