Handball 21
Critic Reviews for Handball 21
Handball 21 presents as a solid official handball game. While the passion behind the design is evident, I must say it still has lots of room for overall improvement. The lack of depth in the game modes can wait an iteration or two in my opinion, that is so long as the gameplay improves with each entry. As it is stands, it is not bad but it can certainly be better.
Handball 21 is not a good game in any sense of the word. Die-hard handball fans will probably be able to ignore this game’s myriad of issues and enjoy what’s basically the only available simulator in the market. Everyone else, be it a casual sports fan or someone who has never heard of handball before, will quickly become fed up with how lackluster this game’s presentation and gameplay are.
In short, Handball 21 is a poor imitation of the real-life counterpart it tries to emulate. With janky, inconsistent mechanics, comical goalkeeping AI, lifeless presentation and shallow gameplay, there’s little to recommend to anyone other than the most hardcore of handball fans. The greatest compliment I can give it is that while the game itself made me question my existence, I did at least watch a couple of actual matches of handball, which were far more enthralling than the virtual version. Stick with the real-life sport on this one.
Handball 21 does a nice job of doing the little things and making a noob like myself feel like a lifelong fan.
