Märchen Forest
Critic Reviews for Märchen Forest
Welcome to a story spanning several planes of existence. Mylne is a young girl living in a secluded forest, with the mysteries of her past about to come to light. Journey through her cheery small community, dangerous dungeons, and the grotesque deeper recesses of a dark underworld to discover the horrors of human—and inhuman—experimentation.
Märchen Forest is an engaging JRPG if you go in expecting things to get weird. If you're just looking for a nice little JRPG experience with enjoyable dungeon-crawling and rewarding combat, you can't really go wrong with this one.
The game’s main interests are discovering endless mysteries during the dungeon exploration. Plot of the game shifts dramatically once your main quests in the forest are complete. Once you enter deep underground, It’s as if you’re playing a completely different game. There are plenty of side quests to keep you seated as well. Be careful once you commit to a long session in the dungeons though, as the player can easily get disoriented as the maps for your reference are intentionally hidden away from your grasp.
