Worst FF game I ever played. This is a game you can beat with one button. story starts great and then goes downhill from first 2 hours or so. The end is terrible
This is the single biggest disappointment I've ever had with the Final Fantasy series
When I first picked up this game, I didn’t really know what to expect. When last I played another Final Fantasy game, it didn’t catch my fancy and I didn’t finish it. However, with XVI, imagine my surprise to how much they have improved and streamlined the experience in a
Great twist of the franchise. Epic battles, action packed combat, great story. Could have used more RPG elements, but overall a great game nonetheless.
Good story, but the battle system is too simple. Side missions are hilariously bad. Awesome boss battles.
Flashy action is not enough to make up for the shallowness in all aspects of Final Fantasy XVI
I am a fan of Final Fantasy games. I loved 7, 8, 9, 10. I also loved 12, the 13 trilogy and the 15. I even have 1.5k hours on FF14 MMORPG.
But this one really is a mixed one.
On one hand, the story is sometimes amazing, on the
Pros: Some visually impressive boss fights, Fantastic soundtrack Cons: Story and characters are incredibly shallow, Combat is one-dimensional, repetitive, and lacks challenge, Excruciatingly tedious and boring side quests, No customization options or party members, Lacks variety of content, "Active Time Lore" is used as a crutch for lack of fleshing
A political story that eventually turns into absolute nonsense, only boss battle spectacles are the redeeming factor. If only they weren't glorified quick time events. Square basically threw all the RPG elements out in favor for a action combat system without much depth.
