Monster Hunter World
Quintessential Monster Hunter with great visuals, great gameplay, great monsters, great replayability.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn
Excellent tactical RPG, this game precedes Final Fantasy Tactics but largely holds its own against what many consider THE genre classic. The story is interesting and (mostly) mature, doesn't shy away from hard topics. The gameplay is quintessential tactical RPG, with classes/jobs, branching paths, hidden questlines, conditional unit recruitment, and

Monster Hunter Wilds
Excellent Monster Hunter, the right continuation and evolution from World/Rise. Only aspects I found weak are 1/overall optimization (game is hard to run well) and 2/difficulty (I think the game is overall easier than World so far, which isn't too problematic but definitely lowers replayability).

Baldur's Gate 3
A worthy successor to the classical Forgotten Realm CRPGs, improved just enough to feel very fresh and visually pleasing, without losing its core identity. The core story itself isn't particularly amazing but the branching possibilities are almost endless, which increases replayability a lot.

Genshin Impact
Fantastic game, addictive open world, great story telling, innovative combat design. Would be a perfect game if not for the gacha aspect, but the game is still excellent as a non paying player.

Final Fantasy XVI
Great twist of the franchise. Epic battles, action packed combat, great story. Could have used more RPG elements, but overall a great game nonetheless.

Final Fantasy VII Remake
A good remake of a classic. Competent gameplay, great visual, good polish. However the game felt too padded with unskippable minigames, annoying fetch quests and a LOT of back and forth running. Pacing was also uneven (who thought it was a good idea to add a motorcycle sequence towards the

Wuthering Waves
It's a fine "Genshin clone". The game evolves the base Genshin formula with more involved combat and a different philosophy on traversal/exploration. The complete package is competent, with some great aspects such as the visuals and some of the fights. I think the game is still slightly inferior to Genshin

Elden Ring
Fun and challenging game, great exploration, interesting world. However after a while it felt a bit stale as most combat seem to reduce down to "look for pattern, dodge, hit, run, dodge, hit, run".

Zenless Zone Zero
Fun combat, great animations and ambiance. However lacks a bit of depth compared to other Hoyoverse games and while tried and true, the gacha formula is starting to get stale with a 3rd game following the same pattern.
