This is the game that got me to finally try a turn-based RPG. The incredible story, phenomenal acting, and addictive gameplay made this an instant replay.
I understand why people glaze it so much. I've got 12 hours of playtime in the first 24 hours I owned it. Amazing turn based combat, beautiful world, music I'd listen to on repeat for the rest of my life, likeable characters, amazing story.
Hmm… Kudos for the price and the small Studio, but the game itself is weird, boring and typical Final Fantasy railroading dirt.
I have no idea why people like this game, or this kind of game.
I just don’t like this kind of "everything is so cool, grab an useless orb which
Wow. Now that I finished the game, I just want to say what a remarkable achievement. I am truly blown away by this game. It deserves all the hype. The story, visual direction and the music is just at another level completely. It is experience like no other. Truly an
Stunning game! Excellent gameplay, story, and visuals.
The map could use some qol to navigate the world for sure.
Best game I have played since Cyberpunk 2077 (I have played less than 10 games since 2020 but still)
Before I played, I heard so much about how good this game was from lots of friends. Now, I can say the prologue got me crying. That is what made me want to continue the story. And I was intrigued all the way up to the end of ACT 1.
One of the best games I've ever played in recent years. Normally, I'm not a fan of turn-based games, but this one is more than just that.
Expedition 33 is a beautiful, oppressive, unforgettable experience that asks one simple question:
“How many dead bodies is too many before it becomes a design choice?”
Possibly my best gaming experience so far, everything is in it: an inspired and accomplished artistic direction, a moving story with powerful themes, engaging and well-written characters, a grandiose and extremely diverse soundtrack, and an innovative gameplay (note: I've never played a JRPG before). A well-deserved GOTY award!
