Midnight Murder Club is all about flashlight duels and laughs in the dark. It’s a blast with friends, especially using proximity chat, but the single map and shaky matchmaking keep it from lasting too long. The sound design steals the show, while Graveyard Shift doesn’t add much. Still, at a budget price, it’s the kind of game you’ll want to break out for late-night chaos with your crew.

Midnight Murder Club is a moreish mix of mayhem that I can see myself enjoying in short bursts. With multiple game modes and plenty of ways to play with friends, it’s a perfect way to spend time tormenting friends from the safety of your own home.

Midnight Murder Club does a lot to stand out, but feels like a fun party game with mates instead of a multiplayer game you can play for weeks on end. Although the fun modes and wacky rule changes are great, the lack of progression, customisation, unlockables and maps might be its downfall.

Midnight Murder Club has a strong perception of what it needs to be, but fails to brew up anything that would survive more than one games night with the gang thanks to its one map and little to nothing to work towards.

Midnight Murder Club is a game with guts. It deliberately breaks with what we expect from the multiplayer shooter genre. It forces players to survive in total darkness, armed with nothing more than a flashlight and their voice. This creates unique tension, hilarity, and memorable moments. It fits in the same vein as Mario Kart: a game you fire up every now and then for fun with friends (or strangers). However, it remains a niche experience. The high entry barrier, the frustrating matchmaking, and the lack of long-term rewards make it difficult to retain players long-term at the moment. Midnight Murder Club isn't the new Call of Duty, but that's precisely its strength.

"When darkness turns into a weapon" Midnight Murder Club offers a unique multiplayer shooter experience, combining horror and tactics with a comedic twist that makes every round full of surprises. The game offers innovative ideas, and voice chat makes it ideal for fun sessions with friends. The game has a solid foundation that can develop into one of the most prominent multiplayer shooters of the future.

"Midnight Murder Club" impresses with a simple but ingenious idea. In complete darkness, I sneak through a creepy mansion and try to murder my fellow players. The use of my flashlight – and my voice – must be carefully considered. The wildcard mode is particularly appealing, with its crazy gameplay modifications. Unfortunately, the game only offers one map and few exciting game modes. The number of active players is far from promising. Therefore, I only recommend Midnight Murder Club if you want to play with friends.
