Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart Reviews
So it is not a perfect game and as you come to grips with its systems it stops being difficult even on the highest difficulty levels, but Hyperdevotion Noire is a deliberately silly, irreverent game that is hugely entertaining and technically competent. As someone who can't get enough of the tactics JRPG genre, this is one I couldn't put down.
All said and done, Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart is a great game, whether you're in it for the Strategy RPG game-play or the Hyperdimension Neptunia story. And even if you're not either of those, it's a great starting place for both – an alternate reality for the story and a well-balanced game for the gameplay. Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart is very well polished and it's the small things here that set it apart from other SRPG's.
To be quite honest, my most favorite aspect of the game was being able to speak with Noire as a “Player” and view the affectionate side of her, a contrast to her usually stern outward demeanor. It is like a subtle dating sim disguised in this strategic RPG. The gameplay was quite enjoyable with various unique aspects one would not see in other Neptunia or strategic RPG games. Going through missions may feel tedious at times, but one can take a break from fighting by visiting the Basilicom and having a chat with Noire to boost one’s spirits. Overall, it is a very fun game for franchise fans and newcomers alike, especially if one is a Noire fan. It is definitely a great addition to the ever-growing Neptunia franchise.
