Critic Reviews for Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing
Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing simply isn't as fun, or as polished, as it strives to be. There was potential here, but it's not realized due to mechanical issues that make playing a slog.
For a very simple top-down racer, you’d expect very simple controls to match, but unfortunately Grand Prix Rock ‘n Racing seems to have something of an identity crisis
After playing the game for a while, I need to say that you should avoid playing this one on Nintendo Switch. The way the cars steer feels off, and that will certainly get in the way. Sure, there are more than enough tracks in the game, but when winning a single race requires a lot of work, and getting to play the rest is not something that just happens.
Grand Prix Rock N Racing is an interesting proposition, but it tries every possible way to make you fail and you can tell that most of the time, it isn't doing it on purpose. Poor handling, archaic AI, no online play and a distinct lack of depth even in the game's Championship mode means that this is one that got stuck on the grid.
As you may have gathered I’m not at all a fan of Rock ‘N Racing Grand Prix and I absolutely cannot recommend it to anyone as it gets the fundamentals of a racing game so wrong. On pretty well every critical level the game is lacking, provoking more frustration than anything else when trying to play it. This is a game that probably wouldn’t even be fit to be scrapped for parts.
