Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus Reviews
Final Fantasy 15 Episode Gladiolus is a short and decent story expansion that brings an engaging new combat system. The same can’t be said for its story as it brings nothing new to the table.
Ultimately, unless you’re a die hard fan of Final Fantasy 15 who is hungry for more, I cant really recommend this DLC. Its one of the worst examples of content for money I’ve had the displeasure of experiencing.
Episode Gladio is a good start for Final Fantasy XV’s planned DLC. While Cor and Gilgamesh are great to see, and the changed gameplay is interesting, the dungeon and overall story are somewhat bland.
The bland setting, the slow, and poorly considered combat, and some really poor musical decisions mean that Episode Gladiolus doesn’t come close to reaching the heights of the main game, and that’s a shame given that it has an interesting plot, and it’s experimenting with ideas in the Score Attack mode.
Overall, Episode Gladiolus is well worth picking up. It’s a little on the short side, but playing as Gladio is an absolute joy and the extras help give it some re-playability. I will definitely be sinking a bit more time on it over the next few days and I can’t wait for Episode Prompto in June.
