Sleep Tight is an enjoyable little twin-stick/tower defence hybrid that will keep fans of either genre entertained. Lacking a multiplayer mode is the only sin committed by this otherwise engaging genre title.

While there's nothing here that hasn't been done in other games before, I still feel the urge to hop in for another run to try and beat my previous high score. Testing various defense strategies and skill synergies is lots of fun. I have no doubts that some clown on the internet will discover some tactic or exploit that allows survival beyond one hundred nights, but I really like figuring out what works on my own. The art style works, though it doesn't really stand out enough to be a positive on its own. I played exclusively with a controller and found the game to be responsive. I never felt like my deaths were caused by anything other than my own mistakes. The PC version I reviewed performed wonderfully, though it lacks many of the basic options, like resolution or windowed mode, that players would expect.

Sleep Tight has the structure and form to be an absolutely fantastic game. Its impressive visuals, delightful music, and endearing concept make it easy to recommend to all ages. A little bit of variety such as additional environments and maybe a co-op mode hold it back from greatness.

I am not a fan of one map, same enemies and fixed forts and turrets and I believe that I would enjoy Sleep Tight in co-op more, but if you are into tower defense, Sleep Tight offers a very different environment and enjoyable gameplay.

While looking at the whole package, Sleep Tight's art style and gameplay make it stand out above other twin-stick survival shooters. While you aren't getting a massive amount of content, you'll still be able to have a ton of fun with the game. And at $14.99, I can absolutely recommend it for both fans of the survival genre and fans of the "cartoony" art style.

Sleep Tight is a fun experience and a great take on childhood nightmares. I wish I could have been this armed when I was growing up. With fast paced action and great music, I do wish that it had different modes, the ability to start further up or to adjust the difficulty more than by simply switching the characters. I’m hoping for a multiplayer component down the line because either coop or versus to see who does better / lives longer would be amazing!

It's also worth noting the music is great, the art style is fun and memorable, and the level of difficultly is pretty balanced making the old cliche “easy to pick up, hard to master” pretty applicable. There's definitely some fun times to be had with Sleep Tight, it just feels like the depth of gameplay is keeping me from being a game I will be playing consistently in the near-future.

Sleep Tight is a fun ride while it lasts. Blasting the pesky monsters that inhabit our closets and inspire movies like Monster’s Inc. is a great conceit. The controls are spot-on and the challenge is real. Your goal is to last as many nights as you can without succumbing to the onslaught of evil. Good luck!

Overall there’s quite a bit to like about Sleep Tight, which manages to take a great core idea and do some interesting things with it. That said, it can be a slow burn getting to the point where it can be a serious challenge but then sort of jumps into being too hard too quickly once it decides to step things up. With a sustained campaign easily lasting more than an hour this can make for a bit more dead time getting going than I’d prefer, and the fact that there’s only one bedroom layout then contributes to things feeling too similar too often after a while. With some tweaks I think the experience could be quite a bit better, and I’d love to see a more refined sequel that places greater emphasis on changing things up, with kids all having different bedrooms to help make things a bit more interesting and an improved method of laying out your defenses.

Sleep Tight is a decently fun twin-stick shooter with roguelite elements. While the scenery and enemy variety are something to be desired, those who want a challenging time waster should try this.

The controls are smooth and the graphics look fantastic but it feels like it just needs more variety. In a game heavily inspired by children's imaginations, the repetition is surprisingly dull.

All this might seem like I’m pretty down on Sleep Tight. But in the end, it feels like a game that’s hot out of the gate, but falls short after the first lap. It’s all style, but gets weighed down by some technical issues and a lack of variety.

Lack of variety is this cute tower defence game's ultimate downfall. It builds a very solid foundation of what could have been an incredible game but falls very short in its objectives. You'll grow tired of it during your first few nights as you fight off cute monsters in your bedroom. It's still an endearing game despite its flaws and may be worth it on a sale sometime, but don't expect your pillows to explode from this.

The concept of playing as a kid fighting off monsters with dart guns and pillow forts was the thing that attracted my attention to Sleep Tight. However, I'm not sure this game delivered on the nostalgic feeling it was driving for.

All in all, Sleep Tight is a neat little package. It knows what it wants to do and it does most of it well enough, but it might not excite people who don't share the same nostalgia for the specific childhood experience described within it.

In the end, Sleep Tight means well but is very limited in scope. The core mechanics are fine, and the different upgrade trees are good, but the slow difficulty ramping can make it feel like a grind in a short amount of time. The lack of any modes hurts significantly, as does the lack of variety in locations and your arsenal. Unless you want something simple in your tower defense or twin-stick shooting game, it's easy to pass on Sleep Tight in favor of other titles.

Unfortunately, this is a time when putting the cake back in the oven hasn’t really helped, or it might have if the oven was turned on. Really it doesn’t feel like anything at all has changed since the initial release over six months ago.

Sleep Tight captures the essence of being a kid. With its whimsical charm, its tone is the best thing it has to offer. It is a shame that there is just not enough content for the player to be engaged after a few plays.

Sleep Tight has some very interesting ideas, but unfortunately fails to captilise on them and falls into the depths of mediocrity.
