Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is a great example of what a solid game developer, time, passion, and virtual hands-off by EA can do for a Star Wars game. No hidden charges, no bullshit micro-transactions or loot box rubbish -- just a solid game that entertains and rewards a player for playing it. Top quality!

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is much more an ACTION than an adventure game. The balance of genres keeps the game loyal to what a Jedi really is. The adventure elements are "breathers" to all the action in the game. In-between running, jumping, climbing and intense close combats, there is a story, easy puzzle-solving, and collectibles to explore. Besides all features that could be listed, the MOST RELEVANT aspect is how this game makes you feel. The gameplay takes you into the movies to live an adventure as a Jedi.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is possibly the game that fans of Star Wars series have been waiting for a long time and that we finally have in stores. The lore will not be the best, nor the characters the most charismatic, however, we will be able to enjoy the universe that we all are passionate about, feel like true Jedi, use their skills, kill troopers from the Empire and defeat the Dark Side.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has incredibly good elements, and they play out exceptionally well in its first three hours. Force-power diversity, combat animations, beautiful opening zones, clever puzzles, and Jedi-salvation stakes could lead anybody to believe they were in for a Star Wars single-player epic worth investing in. The trouble is, the game begins to run on fumes after those three hours.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order hits the target by offering the right mix of adrenaline-pumping action and thoughtful exploration. The metroidvania mechanics are grafted to perfection within the game formula, and the same can be said for those borrowed from the latest productions of From Software. Without introducing anything really new, Respawn Entertainment manages to merge all these elements and give birth to a fascinating and satisfying experience, as well as being consistent with the Star Wars ecosystem (much more than the last movies).

Respawn Entertaiment has given us one of the surprises of the year with this title, a fun, long and very varied game in its development. It takes concepts from several well-known titles and mixes them in an impressive way leaving a very good taste in the mouth. Against it they play some graphic problems, an unimpressive story and a very badly rewarded backtraking, but they don't get to tarnish the quality of this title. If you are a fan of the universe created by George Lucas, Jedi Fallen Order is a must.

I would recommend Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to anyone who's even remotely familiar with the universe. There are plenty of Easter eggs and geek-out stuff for the fans (you can build a custom lightsaber!), and the gameplay is less about reinvention and more about refining pieces to fit the experience, which is what a lot of great art is built upon. If anything, this game made me feel like I did back in the 1990s, when I truly felt the Force in the game space for the first time. With an interesting story, beautiful visuals, and a great soundtrack, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the best Star Wars game in years. The game has its flaws with performance issues, boring characters, the occasional glitchy jump, and overuse of the sliding mechanic, but the positives easily outweigh these, resulting in a very enjoyable and entertaining 15-20 hour narrative adventure. If you’re a fan of Souls-like combat and Metroidvanias, you should already have this game, whether you’re a Star Wars fan or not, as the gameplay alone is worthy of picking it up. Free of Microtransactions and focused on the Single-player experience, THIS is how you make an engaging and interesting Star Wars game.

If you are getting the idea that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a great Star Wars game, then you’re on the right track, and I believe that Respawn (and EA) is too. There is so much great about this game that it can be easy to overlook its obvious flaws: graphical errors and glitches, a static and sometimes flawed combat system, unrewarding collectibles, and lacking RPG elements being chief amongst those complaints. A full play through of the campaign took me just over 12 hours – a span that told a cohesive story with impressive components, but in the end nearly overstayed its welcome and resulted in a game that felt to me rather one-note. Jedi: Fallen Order feels like a great base game that Respawn can build upon to make deeper, richer, and more stable sequels that fully explore the powers of a Jedi while polishing the individual elements borrowed from each different genre.

It is curious that this game clearly understands the strong aspects of the property on which it is based on, and in that spectrum it delivers a lot of personality, offering one of the best Star Wars adventures to date, but when it comes to gameplay and game design aspects, it has trouble deciding what it wants to be. Many influences are suited for the nature of the I.P as the decision to create maps with a great focus on exploration and implement bombastic action sequences, but the combat ended up suffering from inconsistency between excellent and mediocre aspects. In summary, Jedi: Fallen Order is a good game that establishes a strong base for Respawn to continue to improve and find its own identity for this sub-series.
