Jet Kave Adventure Reviews
Whether or not Jet Kave Adventure is worth it comes down to whether you think you’ll replay the stages to complete all the extra challenges. My initial playthrough lasted just short of four and a half hours, but I completed almost no challenges and missed several trophies. I want to recommend it to people who just want a nice platforming experience, but between its other shortcomings and the asking price of $19.99, I’m leaning more toward waiting for a sale. It’s functional fun, though not necessarily a total package.
I absolutely love the level design, specifically the backgrounds, they are breath-taking! (Keanu Reeves breath-taking). When I saw the backgrounds it really made me want to fly off the path and explore, I think if the developers made either an open world or a free roam style game they would make beautiful levels with amazing skyboxes.
I’m sure this statement’s getting old by now, but here it goes anyways. Jet Kave Adventure doesn’t reinvent the wheel (ha!), but that’s fine because it doesn’t have to. The jetpack is implemented perfectly with the gameplay and with the diverse amount of mechanics used to break up the platforming sections the game never feels stale. The platforming feels similar to how many other 2.5D plaformers play because it has tight, responsive controls that are easy to pick up and learn. There’s an unfortunate lack of difficulty if you’re just trying to complete the game’s 36 levels and the characters don’t live up to the fantastic cast of others in the genre. With all that being said if you want a new platformer to take on the go, Jet Kave Adventure is a great choice
WORTH CONSIDERING - Jet Kave Adventure checks all the boxes for what a sidescrolling action platformer should be, but it doesn’t go above and beyond to create a lasting impression. What’s here is solid and there are some fun levels to play through. The soundtrack is pretty boring, but the graphics are pretty to look at and the jetpack gameplay mechanic is enjoyable. This is a good pick up if you’re yearning for more platforming on a system filled with platformers.
