Splatoon 3 has announced that its winter-themed Frosty Fest seasonal Splatfest event will be coming back next year, with the event starting on January 11. The rerun of Splatoon 3's Frosty Fest event will also have some free rewards, including ones for fans who missed playing the seasonal Splatfest the first time. This is the second returning seasonal Splatfest theme, following Splatoween from earlier this October.
Splatoon 3's Grand Festival marked the end of an era, with Nintendo's family-friendly third-person shooter no longer receiving regular updates. The game is still getting its fair share of weapon adjustment updates and seasonal events, with Frosty Fest being one of them. The Seasonal Splatfest usually changes the game's hub world to reflect the season, with Frosty Fest appropriately making everything winter-themed, such as snow covering the buildings and floats decorating Splatsville. The first Frosty Fest of Splatoon 3 took place in the middle of January 2024, and 2025's event also takes place during the same period of time.
Splatoon 4 seems more and more plausible as Nintendo teases its next console, and if it appears, it needs to reassess a big part of Splatoon.
