BioWare games are perhaps best remembered for the decisions they force you to make. Whether it's Mass Effect 2's suicide mission or who gets left in the Fade in Dragon Age: Inquisition, many of these decisions revolve around saving and sacrificing our companions.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is no different. In the final act, there are numerous ways to bump off every member of the gang - and even Rook themself. While you can save most of them with some prep work, you can't keep everyone alive, because one of two companions will always die right before the final fight: Harding or Davrin.

Over in the Dragon Age subreddit, fans are sharing the turmoil that they went through when having to watch either Davrin or Harding die. To make matters worse, you don't even explicitly select someone to die - you choose someone to lead a team, and the leader always sacrifices themselves to kill Ghilan'nain.
