The creativity of the Baldur's Gate 3 community never ceases to amaze—they're answering the questions that nobody asked, yet are still curious to know the answer to. Have you ever wondered which companions share the most similar opinions? If we were to place each of our beloved companions on a political compass, where would they land?
That's a mystery for another day, but Tarresque_Named_John has begun to shed light on the question of where the opinions of companions fall, in relation to one another. In a Reddit thread, this pre-eminent scholar used data-mined dialogue files to map how often each companion agreed with another companion, quantifying the agreeability of each pair of characters.
Having access to data-mined files certainly made the task easier as they didn't have to spend hundreds of hours triggering every conceivable piece of dialogue, but this was still a Herculean task nonetheless. In their methodology, the definition of agreeability is outlined as whether the companion expresses approval or disapproval of the player's actions. If two companions both approve of an action, they are seen as agreeing with one another. If they have differing opinions, then that's considered a disagreement.
It's best...
