Black Myth: Wukong burst onto the scene earlier this year, breaking Steam records while capturing the hearts of soulslike fans across the globe. It won Player's Voice at The Game Awards, and was nominated for the grand prize, ultimately losing out to Astro Bot. However, you can't really say you've made it until someone attempts to create a cheap ripoff and flog it on an official storefront though.
Black Myth: Wukong's massive popularity and sales meant ripoffs were always likely, and our first official one popped up on the Nintendo eShop earlier today. First spotted by IGN, a game called Wukong Sun: Black Legend can now join the likes of high-profile ripoffs such as Light of Mothiram, The Last Hope - Dead Zone Survival, and Stumble Guys as shameless knock-offs that have somehow avoided a lawsuit.
Right from the offset, you can see that something isn't quite right. The first image promoting the title looks to be an AI-generated image of Sun Wukong, as his strangely textured, black and gold armor shows all the hallmarks of AI. It looks relatively similar to the main character of Black Myth: Wukong, but the game itself is anything but.
