Palworld just released its biggest-ever update, Feybreak, and with it came a raft of changes, including a collaboration with another crafting game, Terraria.
We spoke to Pockerpair at year's Tokyo Game Show to discuss the game's success, the ‘dead game’ allegations, and its plans for the future.
The update has been so heavily anticipated that it's caused players to flood back, bringing in Palworld's highest Steam player count since the beginning of June of this year.
Palworld's numbers have been dwindling over the past few months. Although still impressive, the game dropped to an average player count of around 15,000 in November. After a dip in May and June and a bump in July, the number of players had been falling month after month.
However, the game's latest update seems to have given it a shot in the arm. Last night, according to SteamDB, Palworld hit a peak concurrent player count of 134,747 players, the highest it has been since June 1, when around 143,000 players jumped into the game.
It's a far cry from when Palworld launched, with the game peaking at over two million players, but it's a step in the right direction for developers Pocket Pair....
